have you ever asked a straight virgin if they're sure they're straight?
far from the worst any of us has heard, your bullshit is all too common.

have you ever asked a straight virgin if they're sure they're straight?
far from the worst any of us has heard, your bullshit is all too common.
So do straight people start to realize they're straight at 31?
omg you Americans should get yourself real problems, which you have but y'all have the intelligence of an orangutan to realize that.
Do you think you’d actually say that to a stranger in real life, though? Maybe to a friend or someone else you were close with who understands your perspective and you’ve already developed common ground and rapport with. And that may be part of the issue with Internet communication. You are essentially talking to someone (or challenging them) about very personal things, with minimal understanding of them, and they have minimal understanding of you and your intentions as well.
Or it is just related to the phenomenon of people willing to be more confrontational behind the safety of their keyboard (in both directions).
With regard to why someone took offence to what you said, consider this: if a 14 year old boy said he liked women, would you also question his certainty in his sexuality even if he had 0 practical experience? Or is it only something you’d question for bi or otherwise queer people whose preferences aren’t conforming to the standard? I suspect the latter, because it’s pretty damn rare for anyone to ask straight people if they are sure they are straight… shouldn’t they have some homosexual experiences first to be sure?
Well the difference is the stranger is asking about feedback on the internet? like be so for real. Also what stupid example is that, are y'all so mentally challenged that you can't see the difference between someone finding out their sexuality at 14 to someone doing so later in life?
Maybe instead of thinking other people's concerns are beneath us we should just try to be excellent to each other, unless someone is being a dick then maybe make a joke or give them a silly tag or a block
Okay and how exactly was I terrible to this person?
I mean, if they were questioning their sexuality, then obviously they're not sure. So your question was redundant and out of place to say the least.
Also, as already said in this thread, people don't generally challenge heterosexuals regarding their actual experiences. So challenging a bisexual/homosexual person about how they feel regarding their sexuality based on their actual experience with other partners does indeed feel like an invalidation and therefore disrespectful.
And at last, on the internet, for many different reasons, it's quite normal that a debate becomes hyperbolic. But dismissing the situation telling people they're oversensitive and privileged because of your own lack of tact to deal with the situation doesn't help your case either.
Well, people don't challenge heterosexuals because usually heterosexuals don't find out they're straight when they're in their 30's.
And I do dismiss it because no one in real life becomes so affected about that bullcrap. It's a very simple question as a trans person I've been asked worse and I'm not going to jump at someone's throat for their ignorance on a topic.
It honestly sounds like the kind of question people ask when they're severely bored. When I get bored like that I play guitar or video games, so as not to say bubble-headed crap on the internet.
"Playing videogames" okay thanks for the advice but I didn't ask children to tell me to go play games 🤣 if I see someone openly asking for feedback I'll give them the feedback. Isn't that the point of it in itself?
Sensitive? WTF do you mean sensitive? I'm not sensitive. Thank you for rage baiting with us today.
Yes, y'all Americans, specially white ones are full of sensitivity and bullshit. Thanks for confirming it x
Pretty much the entire human race is subconsciously insecure AF, so they overcompensate by being judgemental of others whenever they can get away with it - which is why it happens so much more on the Internet where there are almost never IRL repercussions for their behavior. Being offended gives people an excuse to feel better than someone else for just a moment. It's very much like a drug addict - they get a momentary high from feeling superior, but "high" lasts less and less every time so they have to do it more and more.
Considering the stress so many are under with the state of the world today, the insecurities & associated need to overcompensate are very high. Since people are addicted to social media for their self-righteousness "fix" (where they can get it and get away with the behavior it drives), and the tech bros make shit-ton of money from being the "pusher", it's not gonna stop unless some law is passed to decrease the addictive "features" and/or people figure out how to "detox" themselves.
I can clearly see that with the people raging on the comments ahaha
