Probably coming from all the taxes they've taken from us and which we will have to pay back next year anyway, so this is just a gimmick for his idiot followers again.

Reminds me of the time when Joe Biden promised $2000 COVID relief checks, and then when Dems won Georgia, those checks magically became $1400 instead.

Don't trust a politician (and especially Donald) when they promise shit like this. This is the third time he's gone to this well. (Remember the imaginary DOGE dividend and the tariff rebate checks?)

He is without integrity, so a promise from him is meaningless.

[–] Jhex@lemmy.world 13 points 4 days ago

I hate to agree with trump but, Americans are dumb... they have elected him TWICE into office!

Anyone who believes Trump is like an abused partner saying "He is sorry he hit me, but he promises he's going to take me somewhere nice." GET OUT OF THERE!

[–] atro_city@fedia.io 9 points 4 days ago

Suddenly he wants to redistribute wealth like a communist.

[–] rogsson@piefed.social 7 points 4 days ago

[–] rauls5@lemmy.zip 8 points 4 days ago (1 children)

He thinks Americans can be bought of with $5,000?

Oh God.

[–] IrateAnteater@sh.itjust.works 14 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Honestly, that price is higher than I would have expected.

Every US adult, or every US person who can consent. Because by his definition that might increase the number of people dramatically.
