The unknown artist who gets this gig and then says "Free Palestine" at the first show will

  • get more gigs
  • be able to look themselves in the mirror afterward

I so need the winner to do this now it would just be too perfect

Seems poetically apt, actually. who knew this timeline had a sense of humor.

Some unknown muso has the opportunity to do the funniest thing ever.

Someone should add a sticker "C'mon, we're desperate"

I hope this poster was put up after the dissolution

[–] CosmicTurtle0@lemmy.dbzer0.com 19 points 1 month ago

Or perfectly timed? Didn't he lose every other act on his tour?

I love Guitar Center.

I get to try out many different guitars before purchasing one at a local mom and pop shop.

[–] lemming741@lemmy.world 10 points 1 month ago

Ah yes, the best buy of music

[–] Vinny_93@lemmy.world 13 points 1 month ago (1 children)

This is deliberate of course. Lots of people out there who want to make it big with their music and there will be musicians in there that are actually really good but never really got a chance. Either they're not gonna care about the political statement over this huge chance or they are interested in making a different statement in the first place.

You gotta wonder if those concert halls are going to be full though. And I also wonder what it'll do to the musical quality of the tour.

[–] realitista@lemmus.org 12 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I mean the right way to play this is blindingly obvious. Go up there, do your set, and then yell Free Palestine afterwards.

[–] Vinny_93@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Would be a no-brainer but I think you'll have to sign something stating you won't

[–] realitista@lemmus.org 6 points 1 month ago

Yeah but following your contract isn't very rock in roll, now, is it?

[–] TwodogsFighting@lemdro.id 12 points 1 month ago

Runner up prize is opening for Ed Sheeran twice.

[–] huppakee@lemmy.world 11 points 1 month ago

So there wasn't anyone who wanted to play at his show?

[–] FluidBeef@quokk.au 8 points 1 month ago

Now you have to open for the entire tour.

[–] Yerbouti@sh.itjust.works 8 points 1 month ago (3 children)

I still have no clue what kind of music Ed Sheeran makes.

I feel like I have caller ID now but with links.

[–] derry@midwest.social 2 points 1 month ago

Yes! It's still a thing after all the years

[–] Manalith@midwest.social 1 points 1 month ago

How dare you equate those two

[–] garbagebagel@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago

Boring generic pop

Bad timing for you, good timing for Ed.

[–] tetris11@feddit.uk 5 points 1 month ago

I'm certain ticket sales have gone through the roof just so that people can pay for the opportunity to boo him live

That website is cancer for mobile.

I bet the standards have relaxed now that they have no openers at all.
