I don't have any screenshots. Two that stick with me were:

The entire opening sequence for FF 10. It was hype for 2014 and still hits:

FF 10

And my very first playthrough in Skyrim. The part where you open the door to Bleak Falls Barrow's inner chamber. As you step through and start taking in the scene, the bats come flying out. Skyrim has a lot of jank but that was a very well crafted scene and sets the tone for the rest of the game.

Expedition 33 spoiler

I was mindblown by the game offering me that choice. I slept on it.

Operation Winback (from the PS2 remake (that's right G*mers, remakes were a thing back in the "good old days" too))

OK, I can't just post a screenshot.

Crysis 2. I knew nothing of OG Crysis until I saw an ad in Xbox 360 for 2, and I watched the cinematic trailer and immediately bought it for both 360 and PC.

The detail and graphics, the music (Hans Zimmer score), the voice acting, the cut scenes. Fell in love, played the fucking hell out of this game! Went back, played 1, Wars, and eventually 3. I, for a very brief time, was top of the Crysis 3 leaderboards.

There are a lot of memorable moments in BG3, but those wise words from Karlach stuck with me

As a vanilla WoW player, I will never forget getting coming to the front gates of Stormwind for the first time and being in awe of it.

I don't have a screenshot handy, but I still vividly remember Fallout 3 stepping out of Vault 101 for the first time and feeling the awe of talking my first steps into a fresh new world and also immediately afterwards seeing how destroyed it really is.
