Mineral water, or bubbly water. Bubbly mineral water. It’s all gross and I’m tired of pretending it’s not.

Uuu… Gimme them bubbles. Way more refreshing for me than still water.
After commenting this I remembered that I do have a thing for textures in food. I dislike blended soups and need something to chew.
I guess bubbles fit that bill.
Just skimmed through the thread. You know what beverage I don't see in here? Ginger Ale, because it is objectively amazing.

Sake
Tap water. This is highly dependent on where you live. I've had well water that was better than anything I've ever drank and then there's city/town water... ugh.
It's funny how people bring up how advanced the local water plant is while turning a blind eye to the, I don't know 50-60 year old piping that delivers it to your house? I have to run a whole house filter just to shower with it.
Matcha. Every everyone says it's this wonderful day and when I try it it's like drinking blended lawn clippings.
Matcha does taste like grass, I agree, and I still like it. I guess if I ate grass I probably wouldn’t hate it, at least from a taste perspective
It’s delicious. I also love sencha. Black coffee is also superior compared to the sugar bomb coffee drinks most of the country drinks.
Anything fruit flavored that doesn't actually contain any actual fruit. They all taste like poison to me. Energy drinks, vitamin water, orange crush... You name it
Anything with artificial sweeteners.
Numerous people have said coffee, but I will be more specific:
I despise 3rd wave coffee. Its often sour and disgusting.
I love Italian coffee though.
what is 3rd wave coffee? I was shocked the first time I tried a proper pour over light roast... the sweetness naturally in it is so good
That will be IPAs for me. If I wanted to drink grapefruit pith I can think of better ways to do it.
The thing about IPAs is there are many, many different styles, it's a very broad description. Some do taste very citrussy, others don't at all.
Red IPAs for example are more malt based flavor, WC IPAs are usually milder. It depends on the hops used and the individual recipe. It's hard to find two that taste alike.
Not criticizing your taste, and if you don't like them you don't like them, just that they aren't all citrus hop bombs.
I used to hate IPAs, but then I accidentally picked up a Red Rock IPA that snuck into a sixer of lagers and that specific beer unlocked in me whatever makes people love IPA, now it’s the only kind of beer I want to drink.
IPAs are the only beers worth drinking imo. Whiskey or IPAs nothing else really hits right.
Coffee.
I absolutely love the smell of fresh ground coffee. I even ground some up and put it in a bowl on the counter to make the aroma fill the room one time.
But the taste is awful. 🤢
Most alcoholic beverages.
The only one that is both awful, people acknowledge it is awful, but they still drink it a lot is malort. Fucking love that the best endorsement of malort is "this is the worst tasting thing in the world. Try it."
Campari
I've made a complete 180 on Campari. I haaaaaaated it and regretted buying the bottle the first time I tried a cocktail with it. Couldn't believe how it ruined the entire drink. Since I had the bottle, I tried again, with a different drink. Even worse.
Was close to chucking the bottle out, gave it one last try with a modified Jungle Bird:
- 45ml dark (!) rum
- 15ml Campari
- 15ml simple syrup
- 30ml lemon juice
- 60ml pineapple juice
Shake with relatively little ice. Strain into low-ball glass lightly packed with crushed ice. Let dilute for a minute.
Surprisingly, despite being able to taste the Campari, this one was actually really great. Made it again a couple of days later, and again. Since then, it's my favorite cocktail, period.
After a while, went back and tasted Campari pure and to my mild surprise, also liked it. Went back to the awful drinks (first one was a Negroni) and also really liked them now.
So... yeah. I don't know why, but somehow, I went from hating it to absolutely loving it.
I'm just gonna go ahead and be the guy that says... all alcohols.
I've tried beer, wine, tequila, vodka, hard liquors, spirits, fruity drinks, creamy drinks, coffee flavored rum, hard seltzer, hard cider, champagne, you name it. They don't all taste horrible-- coffee (even though I don't usually drink it) and fruit flavored drinks can be acceptable-- but I haven't ever tried a single drink that tastes good because it has alcohol, it's always because the alcohol is overpowered by something else. Just give me the something else please.
All diet drinks. Whatever sugar substitutes they use taste awful no matter what. Now there are products I can't consume because the default version has fake sugar as well. Nasty stuff.
Monster energy drinks. Tastes like what I imagine dumpster juice is like.
And any drink with Stevia in it. Instant dealbreaker if I see it in the ingredients.
Agree on the stevia. It's sweet but not like sugar. And leaves a weird aftertaste
