Democrats can win votes by proposing that the Naza directors be given refugee status in the US.

[–] hopesdead@startrek.website 14 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

But everyone else who supports Israel will likely claim they are terrorist just to stop that from happening.

[–] panthera_@lemmy.today 0 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

But Democrats would win the votes of those who disapprove of Netanyahu's actions in Gaza.

[–] hopesdead@startrek.website 2 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I’m not saying that is bad. I’m saying things are bad enough that the opposition will do wha they can to keep support for the genocide high.

[–] panthera_@lemmy.today 1 points 2 weeks ago

Yes, but if the opposition can't get into office, they can't support Netanyahu.

[–] Taldan@lemmy.world 5 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I don't believe they would be safe in America. Whole lot of countries they can go to that would be safe

Then again, empty promises is a hallmark of the Democratic party

[–] panthera_@lemmy.today 1 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

They should be safe. Many Americans including those who are Jewish disapprove of Netanyahu's actions in Gaza.

[–] Taldan@lemmy.world 1 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

The US government views itself as Israel's closest ally. The government cares far more about what Israel says and wants than it does domestic Jewish opinion

Trump would have to power to jave them unilaterally deported. Just send his ICE goons after them

I do agree with you democrats could win a few votes by promising asylum. It's just an empty promise though, because Trump is the only one that actually has the power to make that decision, as is typical of a dictator

[–] panthera_@lemmy.today 1 points 2 weeks ago

If Democrats control Congress, Trump would have less power.

[–] DrDickHandler@lemmy.world 4 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Why are you wasting our times saying this shit? Democrats don't want these votes. They will support Israel until the end.

[–] panthera_@lemmy.today 2 points 2 weeks ago

From https://www.jpost.com/international/article-903967

Support for Israel among Democratic voters has plummeted, candidates critical of Israel are winning Democratic primaries, and even moderate lawmakers are increasingly willing to challenge decades of US support for Israel.

[–] Pistachio@lemmy.zip 3 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

We can't even keep the refugees we've already promised asylum safe, what makes you think the democrats will do any better for these two?

[–] panthera_@lemmy.today -3 points 2 weeks ago (3 children)

The South African refugees are safe. The other purpose is to win the votes of Americans disapproving of Netanyahu's actions in Gaza.

"The white ones are taken care of, so it's fine"

[–] panthera_@lemmy.today 1 points 2 weeks ago

Hollywood might take care of the NAZA directors.

Clown take.

Actually, after taking a quick gander into your comments, you are a clown account.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 1 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

they were white, and politically useful, because they are "Musk's people"

[–] panthera_@lemmy.today 1 points 2 weeks ago

Hollywood might embrace them.

Stop suggesting this. It's gross as hell.

Setting aside the fact that the current Democratic leadership -- Hakeem Jefferies and Chuck Schumer -- are ardent Zionists, it makes me so angry that you see this problem, and your solution is asylum. For the purpose of 'winning votes'.

You should be demanding the US stop funding and arming the people who want to kill them, their families, and millions of Palestinians.

It's like hearing that a child is being abused at home and suggesting that Target should buy them tickets to Disneyland because it would generate good press.

Sort your priorities out, mate. Christ.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 2 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

its alot more than those 2. at least 13+ in both houses, some other ones are well know like booker, fetterman, slotkin, and a bunch of others. the minorities leaders are just shielding the ones that are at risk for getting thier seats primaried.

[–] panthera_@lemmy.today 1 points 2 weeks ago

How do you get the US to stop Netanyahu without getting the politicians in office to do it? Do you think Democrats or Republicans would be more willing to do this?

[–] ParadoxSeahorse@lemmy.world 8 points 2 weeks ago

Look I presumed Naza was the Israeli space program ok don’t judge me

[–] Malica@lemmy.zip 7 points 2 weeks ago

So they're not there, that's good

[–] Wildmimic@anarchist.nexus 6 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I am very sure they expected this to be the case in the current political climate in Israel and made their preparations.

[–] andrewrgross@slrpnk.net 1 points 2 weeks ago

Yeah.

I have high hopes that one day, they will be among the future leaders of a new Israel-Palestine.

People like these -- as well as many Palestinians currently in detention or living in exile -- will be the Nelson Mandelas of whatever is one day built over the ruins of the present Nakba.

[–] Doomsider@lemmy.world 2 points 2 weeks ago

Sad, but what do you expect from an evil society. I would like to think that this wouldn't the happen in America, but then I saw they raided a congresswoman house trying to build a case to remove her citizenship for deportation. Evil all around.

[–] Hadriscus@jlai.lu 1 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Good, I seldom hear about the israeli left... this must make noise

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 1 points 2 weeks ago

they quashed the opposition after benny got illegitimately elected.
