My wife keeps singing music from Into the Woods. It's a fine musical, and I'm a fan of it, but she's getting the songs such in my head.

I need ammunition to fight back with.

What's a good song to play that I can't get stuck in her head?

Sorry to go nuclear on your wife. Make it through the chorus of this song (mmm bop) one time and it's just about guaranteed earworm. In the words of Mr. Miyagi "If do right, no can defend."

I'm probably screwed just by thinking of the song to recommend it to you. 😁

Oh, so you're fucking evil. Noted.

Stuck in my head without even listening.

You could've simply type "Jitterbug!" to plant this into our collective brains.

Truly deranged mid-80s wear on display, thanks for the link!

Pompeii by Bastille. Not so much the song but the day-day-oh, day-oh chant that runs under it.

Somebody That I Used To Know by Goyte. It took me years to get rid of it. I am in danger simply talking about it here.

Speaking of Day-oh though, the Banana Boat Song made famous by Harry Belafonte and also its appearance in Beetlejuice is a mid tier earworm. It all depends on how evil you're feeling.

Kittyman Sea Shanty by the Trailer Park Boys.

Or Amazing Horse by MrWeebl.

Or perhaps Give That Wolf a Banana by Subwoolfer.

Are Eurovision songs allowed? That's cheating. https://youtu.be/1jSrBdN4b5c

80s/90s cartoon intros, e.g.

Gummi BearsDashing and daring

Courageous and caring

Faithful and friendly

With stories to share

All through the forest

They sing out in chorus

Marching along

As their song fills the air

Gummi Bears

Bouncing here and there and everywhere...

Duck TalesLife is like a hurricane

Here in Duckburg

Racecars, lasers, aeroplanes

It's a duck-blur

Might solve a mystery

Or rewrite history

DuckTales

Ooh-ooh

Rescue Rangers

Sometimes some crimes

Go slipping through the cracks

But these two gumshoes

Are picking up the slack

There's no case too big

No case too small

When you need help, just call...

Ch-Ch-Ch-Chip 'n Dale's

Rescue rangers

[–] slazer2au@lemmy.world 4 points 1 hour ago

Bobbing along from Bedknobs and Broomsticks.

Doggie in the window

Those are the last 2 ear worms I gave my wife by accident.

Live is life. Na Naa na na na!

[–] A_Union_of_Kobolds@lemmy.world 3 points 59 minutes ago

The worst earworms are when you dont really know the words. If you dont have kids I recommend Danny Go.

I’m surprised nobody mentioned Yellow Submarine yet. Or the Sesame Street theme. Or Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo.

If you really want to be evil you can also do The 7th Element or Better Off Alone. You have options

You call that Evil? Try the song that never ends: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xz6OGVCdov8
