The planet when everyone outsources everything to AI:

[–] ICastFist@programming.dev 42 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Won't somebody please think of the shareholders??????

[–] huquad@lemmy.ml 21 points 1 week ago (1 children)

This is what we call an externality in the biz \s

[–] jumping_redditor@sh.itjust.works 8 points 1 week ago (1 children)
[–] Deckname@piefed.social 6 points 1 week ago

And as always, society pays for externalities.

[–] justme@lemmy.dbzer0.com 20 points 1 week ago (1 children)

don't worry, we don't need AI for that

[–] justme@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 1 week ago (2 children)

maybe we can ask it, what to do about it?

[–] calcopiritus@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

We already have the answer. We just don't wanna do it

We have several answers, and will probably find several more.

I think the HR departments of nearly everywhere that I’ve worked could be replaced with last year’s, discount LLM models and things would improve.

[–] Midnight1938@reddthat.com 36 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Somehow the people most replaceable by llms are the ones deciding who to replace

[–] Demdaru@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

Once again reminding me about the experiment where LLM performed on the same or higher level as actual execs of companies...

I wonder if I ever will stop chuckling at this, lol.

What about managers?!

[–] Doomsider@lemmy.world 42 points 1 week ago (2 children)

HR offices are crying about the fact that everyone uses AI for their resumes because they use AI to screen them. It is an arms race of keyword stupidity.

[–] marcos@lemmy.world 17 points 1 week ago (2 children)

If they want to stop receiving AI resumes, they can just stop favoring them.

[–] jonline@feddit.online 8 points 1 week ago (6 children)

I don't think they can. HR seems to be full of people who are trying to hire for roles they don't understand. Everyone who works in web development has probably encountered stuff like "Do you know java or javascript? Either is fine" from HR screening calls.

They're both coffee based languages right?

But to do that they need to stop using the AI filtering software that tosses out resumes that don't confirm to AI standards.

[–] yyyesss@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

oh shit it's meta tags and search engines all over again

Employers when I outsource my performance review to AI

[–] criss_cross@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago

My manager outsources it to AI so I don’t see why I shouldn’t
