[–] Denfa@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago

How nice to randomly hear from Liz Truss after all these years

[–] echodot@feddit.uk 6 points 1 day ago

I see the delusion is progressing.

There's no point trying to make sense of this, she's nuts, and just in a sad depression way, not in a fun entertaining way.

In a way I'm bummed that I probably won't see any of the space sci-fi come true where everybody sounds British.

[–] explodicle@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 day ago

We've got universal translators now, so you can make Frenchmen sound British, for some reason.

I understand why the rest of the world would want the brits on Mars, but why is Truss advocating for this herself?

[–] Objection@lemmy.ml 6 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (2 children)

The assertion comes in the former British prime minister’s new book “Bank Job,” which was published Monday and claims to explain “how the Bank of England broke the bond market and brought down the government” when her mini-budget in 2022 precipitated market turmoil.

I understand.

Liz Truss infiltrated the Tories while secretly being a revolutionary aiming to develop the UK into Fully Automated Luxury Gay Space Communism, but she made the unfortunate mistake of showing her hand too early by assassinating the queen three days in, which caused the bankers to realize what she was doing and coordinate a crash in a bourgeois conspiracy to oust her from power.

It all checks out.

[This is a bit, obviously]

The gay illuminati demanded a sacrifice of one head of lettuce from tesco otherwise there would be 7 years of bad wanking.

[–] Objection@lemmy.ml 4 points 1 day ago

It was the only way to prevent seven years of this:

God how I wish to have as much coke as she clearly has.

[–] daychilde@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

Is Pepsi okay?

[–] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 9 points 2 days ago (2 children)

If brits went to Mars they would just complain about the lack of toast and beer.

[–] addie@feddit.uk 2 points 1 day ago

No toast or beer would be a blow. But as long as there's beans, we'll be alright.

[–] Bromeliadventures@lemmy.world 6 points 2 days ago

What?! No toast and beer? What's the bloody point then? I'd rather go to Bognor.

Swindon, can you hear me?

[–] KullumDaue@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

Liz "I'm a huge zionist" Truss 🤮

[–] cruseo@piefed.world 8 points 2 days ago

She often says crazy things

[–] psx_crab@lemmy.zip 4 points 1 day ago

Couldn't even beat a lettuce, but still dream of beating on people who already decades ahead of space flight.

[–] fake@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 day ago

Yes, but what about the pork markets?

Typical malignant narcissist.

[–] 58008@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I feel somewhat bad for her getting the glass cliff treatment, but then my pity evaporates when she continues putting herself out there, saying the most imbecilic things imaginable. She can't admit that her premiership was completely contrived and desperate on the part of her colleagues, and that she would never have gotten a look in under any other circumstances, and so she has to dream up conspiracies and dark forces to explain how she failed almost instantly. And the delusion simply grows the more her imagined self slams face-first into reality. She would have been the best if we'd just given her a proper chance, ya know?

Paperback edition of a human.

[–] ikidd@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

There's no glass cliff in a country that had Maggie Thatcher in power for a decade half a century ago. Truss was a fucking idiot.

Live Brits, or corpses?

[–] Grass@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 day ago

because of elon I associate claims of populating mars with being an epstein lister

[–] ikidd@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 1 day ago

I'm more likely to lob a head of lettuce to the moon than the UK gets to Mars before the end of this century.

She's a fucking loon.

But the people would be starving in the streets.

[–] NocturnalMorning@lemmy.world -3 points 1 day ago (6 children)

I mean, if we could stop being dicks to eachother for 5 minutes we could be on mars right now. We have the technology, it's the political will that's missing.
