Musk must be charged for treason.

[–] Hubi@feddit.org 63 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Is it really treason if it's in line with what the government is doing?

It is if the government is also treasonous. Is it possible to charge an administration for treason? Perhaps we’ll see soon. Probably not, though.

[–] andallthat@lemmy.world 19 points 1 week ago (1 children)

No, but I bet we could be charged for treason for speaking against Cheesecake Saddam

[–] wltr@discuss.tchncs.de 2 points 6 days ago (4 children)

Sorry to interrupt, but why the cheesecake? I just found it hilarious for some reason, but I’m not getting whether the cheesecake bears any hidden meaning I’m not getting.

He's barely American. Born in South Africa, raised in Canada. Idk why people ever expected him to be an American patriot.

Decapitation by flying Tesla?

[–] h0tbeef@lemmy.zip 2 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Hmmm, that would be spectacular, but mercifully quick.

Perhaps we could put them in a carbon fiber submersible and cycle it between the ocean floor and back until it delaminates. That way the evemt is still quick, but they’ll first endure hours of anticipation.

…. Or we could just do it Mussolini style

[–] postmateDumbass@lemmy.world 2 points 6 days ago

Maybe fill several cars with the DOGE team and see which can jump the grand canyon.

[–] ThePantser@sh.itjust.works 10 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Yea let's see the live stream firing squad of the orange one and his playboy.

As a conservative, I must insist that we hold to time-honored traditions of how to deal with this.

Add his awful children as well, Romanov style.

Musk should be guillotined, but the US Constitution defines treason very spefically for a good reason. And this isn't that.

[–] LilB0kChoy@reddthat.com 7 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Maybe this isn’t but that doesn’t mean Musk hasn’t committed, and shouldn’t be tried for, treason.

[–] mattyroses@lemmy.librarysocialism.social 0 points 6 days ago (1 children)

The point is, why is Russia supposedly the enemy of the US again?

Seems the US has lots of enemies, and the liberals and conservatives just disagree on who they should be at constant war with, not if they should be at war.

[–] LilB0kChoy@reddthat.com 0 points 6 days ago (1 children)

The point is, why is Russia supposedly the enemy of the US again?

Really? I thought the point was “Musk must be charged for treason.”

Didn’t realize you conflated a whole different argument into that one sentence.

Maybe take your strawman into the fields with the rest of the scarecrows.

So Russia is an enemy of the US, or is not?

Musk is a traitor to humanity

[–] some_designer_dude@lemmy.world 23 points 1 week ago (1 children)

And yet he walks fearlessly among us. We’re traitors to ourselves for letting them do this to us.

[–] lemmyng@lemmy.world 14 points 1 week ago (2 children)

What happened to his little human shield he'd carry with him everywhere?

Calling Musk an “American” is surely stretching the truth a bit, innit?

[–] fonix232@fedia.io 87 points 1 week ago (1 children)

So is calling him a genius 🤷‍♂️

[–] db2@lemmy.world 22 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Anyone who legitimately thinks he's a genius better bring a shovel to their next iq test.

He needs to be jailed and then deported.

To South Africa, Canada doesn't want him.

Musk wanted to be Tony Stark. Somehow he ended up with Vladimir Putin in his fan club. The truly dystopian part isn’t the praise: it’s that one billionaire can turn critical communications infrastructure into his personal mood ring while governments keep treating him like a public utility with a podcast.

[–] schipelblorp@sh.itjust.works 9 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (5 children)

Another three sentence first comment on your own post that ends with a snappy metaphor. Might want to mix up your prompts.

Congrats on replacing the em-dash with a colon, though.

Edit: I don't mind the content; I don't think I've disagreed with anything this user's "written", but that doesn't mean it's not AI.

[–] Blackfeathr@lemmy.world 1 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago)

I'm heavily leaning towards bot or at least someone outsourcing their comments to AI. Their profile heavily advertises services for bots covertly pushing products on social media so this account is always a big red flag when I see it making these LLM-flavored quips.

The article literally continues by saying that this “close contact” is primarily about avoiding LEO object collisions.

I’m sure these oligarchs are colluding on other shit, but it’s completely disingenuous to try to frame this particular comment as anything other than for operational purposes.

[–] postmateDumbass@lemmy.world -1 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago)

This is a threat.

If Starlink displeases Putin, he can and may very well remove it.

[–] thejml@sh.itjust.works 10 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Why would two people as high ranking in their respective "companies" need to talk to discuss something as technical as avoiding LEO collisions? Like how much does either really know about their current constellation configuration? Those are operational level concerns, not CEO/Country Leader level conversations.

Nationalize SpaceX

[–] mattyroses@lemmy.librarysocialism.social 14 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Ukraine's defense has been shown, at least in the past, to be crucially dependent on Starlink. So Putin is likely eager to make it as attractive as possible for Musk to turn that off.

Now, we can argue that having a single man-child idiot like Musk able to turn off things like this isn't a good idea - but currently that is the case.

[–] Kaligalis@lemmy.world 2 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Putin wants his own Starlink. And he doesn't want Musk to turn it off. He wants to be able to turn it off himself whenever he needs to - preferably without having to cause a Kessler syndrome.

He wants Musk to turn it off for Ukraine.
