Two questions: Are they networked? And does Air force one sometimes gets in range?

[–] bstix@feddit.dk 21 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

So it is a military target now.

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 6 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

Our enemies benefit more from the orange skidmark remaining alive, to the extent that he still is.

[–] RampantParanoia2365@lemmy.world 4 points 7 hours ago

Yes, obviously, he's the leader of their party and President.

[–] Nouvellalia@lemmy.world 19 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

Jfc can you imagine any other shitbag president installing SAMs at his country club?

[–] MonkeMischief@lemmy.today 9 points 18 hours ago

Air to surface missiles should have been installed long ago...nose down.

[–] Jimbabwe@lemmy.world 51 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Future history textbooks will have lots to say about “Clusterfuck’s Last Stand”

[–] NovaVeles@lemmy.world 15 points 1 day ago (2 children)

I do wonder what the history books will say in a few hundred years after it all get muddled up through horrible book keeping and the power grid being blowup by the sun.

"The king in Orange 'Donald Jonald Trunp' made his last stand at his now atlantis style sunken kindom castle of Margarittaville, where he summond dragons of fire and brimstone called MAGA's."

[–] yesman@lemmy.world 18 points 1 day ago (3 children)

Apparently, their taking Iranian threats seriously. And they should. I'd be nervous too if I was protected by a secret service that allowed an bumbling assassin to take 7 shots at at me.

[–] shalafi@lemmy.world 1 points 6 hours ago

That was Biden's USSS, after he purged it of MAGA. Imagine how bad they are now.

[–] NovaVeles@lemmy.world 13 points 1 day ago (3 children)

The ABC here in Australia did a great summary of how the Secret service is being stretched by budget and staff cuts at a time when Trump is a big target of Iran.

To be fair the Iraq military has a $10 million bounty on Trump. That can get a lot of people over there very motivated and they would been seen as heroes in their country if they succeed.

[–] Bluedragon012@lemmy.world 3 points 7 hours ago

If they need help, I'm sure there are Americans that will help Th for free and no desire for the bounty.

Never correct your enemy when he makes a mistake.

[–] KoboldCoterie@pawb.social 4 points 1 day ago

Their country and ours.

[–] Maeve@kbin.earth 9 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Please. Those had to be staged, to support his arguments for his bunker ballroom.

[–] NovaVeles@lemmy.world -2 points 1 day ago

Possible. To be fair, the bunker was necessary as the previous one was woefully inadequate. The ugly ballroom, that is all Trump ego.

[–] Major_Tsiom@fedia.io 17 points 1 day ago (1 children)

So many want to kill him... GODSPEED! blow that disgusting creature into pieces of adipose and shit!

[–] Flower@sh.itjust.works 23 points 1 day ago

Sea-to-lake mansion. He said he didn't want any Spanish.

[–] zabadoh@ani.social 19 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

One can only hope that they target hot air.

[–] duckCityComplex@lemmy.world 17 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Maybe the fat fuck should stay in the White House. He can take his chances anywhere else.

[–] NovaVeles@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

Nah, he does more damage at the White house.

[–] SCmSTR@lemmy.blahaj.zone 8 points 1 day ago

Smells like fear

Surface-to-air missile systems have been deployed at Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort as the Secret Service warns of a “heightened threat environment”.

Two Avenger air defence systemshave been placed on a floating barge near Mr Trump’s Florida residence, according to photos published by the Palm Beach Daily News.

[–] historicaldocuments@lemmy.world 13 points 1 day ago (5 children)

have been placed on a floating barge

I guess there weren't any open patches of ground to put them on.

[–] shalafi@lemmy.world 2 points 6 hours ago

Probably so they have a clear view of the sky without shooting through a palm tree.

[–] multifariace@lemmy.world 3 points 8 hours ago* (last edited 8 hours ago)

At least there aren,t any eyesores like windmills.

[–] FrChazzz@lemmus.org 4 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

I used to live in the area (actually right across the water from Mar-A-Lago in the El Cid neighborhood) and there really isn’t. Not in any place that might actually be workable for defense.

[–] historicaldocuments@lemmy.world 1 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

I guess they know what they're doing. Every golf course I've ever been on has landscaping to set up secluded holes and to put tractor sheds and pump houses out of immediate sight. I guess that's what I expected

[–] FrChazzz@lemmus.org 1 points 18 minutes ago (1 children)

There isn’t a golf course at Mar-a-Lago. The course is a few miles south and in West Palm (hilariously in a fairly rough part of town). But there’s way more green there than I remembered. But I’m guessing they don’t want guests to look out a window and see a missile battery on the lawn lol.

[–] historicaldocuments@lemmy.world 1 points 8 minutes ago (1 children)

Well I'm completely missing something then. If there's no golf then what's the place for?

Also, grass parking with a half empty parking lot?

[–] FrChazzz@lemmus.org 1 points 1 minute ago

I’m assuming that the the grass on the lake/intracoastal side (left hand in the photo) is parking for events and tennis. But the place is basically a dinner club. I’ve only ever been to the older clubs (used to date a girl whose family was generationally loaded and were members at the Beach, Sailfish, and Everglades clubs—none of which wouldn’t admit Trump as a member, which is why he turned Mar-a-Lago into a club in the first place). But they’re just overwrought places where the ultra rich socialize, eat, and have fancy parties.

[–] NovaVeles@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Didn't want the golf course grass to be hurt.

[–] whatmeworry@lemmy.world 3 points 7 hours ago

Common misconception. There’s not actually a golf course at Mar a lago. It’s literally just a big gaudy mansion, some tennis courts, some landscaping. Also notable it’s only about a mile down the road from where Jeffrey Epstein used to live.

[–] lennybird@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

I always think of C&C Zero Hour Avengers units when I see these. Brings back loads of memories pwnin the noobs on Twilight Flame.

Microin' on 3 fronts.

[–] DarkCloud@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Still at least they're not surface to surface (the kind he might aim a protestors).

I wonder with all the failed assassination attempts whether anyone will think to try firing one at Marine One (the presidential chopper).
