To be fair, that's an older picture, and that man is probably dead already.

Gotta be from Oklahoma Oblast.

[–] Fredselfish@lemmy.world 6 points 2 hours ago

did my part early this morning. Wife too.

On X I saw this nearly identical voting motivation post except the person was a poop eater. Obviously, they were targeting people like this guy to go vote. While this post is targeting the poop eaters to go vote.

His head is somehow wider than the sunglasses.

[–] BigBrainBrett2517@lemmy.world 2 points 1 hour ago

Came here to say this. How his head wider than those ski goggle sunnies?!!

[–] Triumph@fedia.io 32 points 5 hours ago (3 children)

Would that I had the confidence to leave the house with a crucifix necklace, Oakleys, bib overalls with no shirt, and a "SHOW ME THAT BUTTHOLE" trucker hat.

[–] ManixT@lemmy.world 3 points 1 hour ago* (last edited 1 hour ago)

I think he's a Juggalo (Insane Clown Posse groupie). For some reason they say that slogan on his hat a lot to each other. Surprisingly they're actually quite LGBTQ+ accepting.

Channel 5 did an interesting piece on them - (NSFW!) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uGIfeC7sdqQ

Those are Pit Viper glasses. You can wear Oakleys and not scream "douche nozzle" but Pit Vipers take you to the top of the bell tower and scream it to the whole town.

[–] syreus@lemmy.world 2 points 1 hour ago

I feel like they have a neat aesthetic, sad.

[–] Triumph@fedia.io 9 points 4 hours ago

That's how far out of the sunglasses scene I am.

I'll take (my mediocre level of) intelligence over confidence any day of the week. That guys life is probably quite dull, and full of anger.

But yes, it would be relaxing oh my.

That guys life is probably quite dull, and full of anger.

You really have no way of knowing that.

[–] Burn_The_Right@lemmy.today 3 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

If he's conservative, we can be confident of it.

Why do people wait for the last day instead of voting early?

[–] Ryanmiller70@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 hour ago

Polling place day of is on the way home and is open later. Early voting is out of the way, only open till 4, and only open on weekdays.

[–] SwingingTheLamp@piefed.zip 6 points 4 hours ago

More convenient. The polling place is on the way to work, a few blocks from my house. The early voting locations are much further away. I have a friend who volunteers at a polling place every election, and he's explained the procedure to me: Even if I voted in-person absentee (i.e. early), they keep my ballot sealed until election day, then it has to be transported to my polling place, and an election volunteer has to physically walk it through the same process of consulting the voter book, and placing it in the scanner.

It's not quite the same, of course. I was behind one of these volunteers this morning, and he located a long list of voters in the book, rather than doing it one at a time. But, at the bottom line, my ballot has to be physically cast at my polling place on election day by somebody. So why not go do it myself?

[–] PattyMcB@lemmy.world 28 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

I'm in an area that isn't under threat of having my vote invalidated

[–] muffedtrims@lemmy.world 23 points 6 hours ago (2 children)

This. My area has long lines for early voting as there are only 4 polling locations for early voting. If I wait day of, after the before work morning rush, I'm in and out in less than 5 minutes.

There are way less early voting locations and they typically close earlier, so they're (purposely) much less convenient to plan for. The one time I early voted, I waited in line for like two hours. They ended up staying open past the advertised close time so those of us still waiting in line could vote.

Meanwhile, this morning I went and voted at my normal location and it took like 20 minutes from parking to getting back in my car, and the poll workers there said it was the busiest they've seen so far.

But what if there’s a last minute announcement and it turns out the democrats are all aliens?

Spoiler: I’d probably still vote Democrat in the unfortunate event that I’m an American and in that situation.

[–] AmyAye@nord.pub 5 points 4 hours ago

I would vote for sentient poops in human suits before the fucking Nazi Fascist of MAGA/the GOP.

In the US, we like to make voting a challenge. No election day holiday, polling places usually have hours within 9-5, and mail-in ballots are being postmarked late because of cost cutting in the USPS.

[–] tamal3@lemmy.world 3 points 4 hours ago* (last edited 4 hours ago)

And where are the voting snacks!! Holidays require special foods, so let's bring out the

Democracy Donuts
Vote (Hot) Dogs
Rebellion Raviolis
People's Power Poptarts
