The maths don't math - even accounting for both benches, 43 red cards to players? That'd mean each team had 10-11 benched players (a relatively high number IIRC) and EVERY SINGLE ONE was expelled
Staff can receive red cards, too. But even then it's a lot of red cards. I suspect in this case the referee red carded other referees. Maybe himself.
It says in the article
A total of 43 players and eight members of the coaching staff were sent off while two Uberlandia board members were also dismissed.
It is funny that board members were also thrown out.
To also respond to the person you’re responding to, it sounds like it’s an “under-20” league so 20 players per team doesn’t sound like that many?
It did sound like a lot of players though.
A match with more than 50 red cards should be called a brawl.
