Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! They expressed sympathy and anger for a white supremacist being killed, but not a school shooting that same day. Fuck 'em
Honestly, there's too many school shootings to keep track of over there, it's basically just routine now. Awful as it sounds, reporting on them seems as pointless as reporting on motorway crashes - they keep happening regardless and are horrible preventable tragedies, but are limited in scope of their effect on a national or international scale.
High profile political activist assassinations are far less frequent though, and far more impactful on that country and potentially on an international scale depending on how the country adjusts it's policies or social norms (it's not a good thing I know, but they have become jaded to shootings in their schools and barely bat an eye when it happens on a national scale any more, so it doesn't really affect anything worth reporting on over here).
So, I can understand why one would get more attention than another, even if it's not remotely just or fair.
But yes, I can't imagine why our government would offer condolences or anything positive towards that fascist's memory or family. We're not afraid of calling a spade a spade over here, but our government isn't exactly stellar, alas.
I have long hoped that they would sort out their school slaughter problem, it's ridiculous that they've built and maintain a society that not only allows it to happen in any but the rarest most extreme of circumstances, but that they aren't interested in fixing the issue enough to actually make meaningful change.
Heck, I see them installing special equipment to slow down gunmen, I see them trying to arm their teachers (insanity), and give kids bullet proof backpacks and such. It all sounds ridiculous looking in from the outside so I don't know how much of that is even true, but it seems they're trying to treat the symptoms not the cause :-(
Anyway yeah, our current government sucks, I certainly didn't vote for them. Their stances on a great many things don't represent my views.
Now that y'all have finally caught up to the rest of the class, what the fuck are you going to do about it

The UN is multiple entities some have executive power some does. ICJ can't do anything concrete so they can be blamed for not yet admitting there is a genocide yet but not for failling to stop the genocide. A commision job is to investigate, find a conclusion which they did, it is the un country members who has the power to stop the genocide

What the fuck?? We expect them to uphold their obligations under the genocide convention that all agreed to, mobilize their troops to engage the Israeli genocidal army and end the genocide.
No faith in them doing anything after two years of live streamed genocide, but I expect them to do more than the bare minimum that Spain is starting to do now.
The UN does not have "troops". UN peacekeepers are members of the armed forces of member states and are deployed at the behest of the Security Council. Why then would you blame the UN as an organisation for not sending in military personnel, when the fault lies in the members and, especially those who would veto any such action?
Jesus Christ, you're gonna pedantically argue semantics in a conversation about stopping active genocide?
The United NATIONS, as the name implies, is an intergovernmental organization of NATIONS. We don't expect António Guterres to personally arrest Netanyahu as the other pedantic comment mocked, we expect the governments that make up the UN to uphold their obligations, or failing that, for their people to hold their governments responsible.
Apathy rules, unfortunately, and when the Nazis come for you, there won't be anyone left to hear you say "actually, the UN does not have "troops" to save me".
I'm gonna be as pedantic as I ever am, yeah, because boring moaning about the UN is misguided and seeps into society.
When people make fun of the UN for "writing a strongly worded letter" that is a missed opportunity to criticise national governments, especially that of the USA, who are the ones with actual actions they can take, Israel itself notwithstanding.

The UN was created as a forum to discuss things. It has no means to enforce anything.
Like what? People say this all the time but rarely have any concept of what the UN can do.
Israel doesn't want to stop their genocide. Other countries don't want to force it to stop. How do you propose the UN takes action to halt it, other than by determining that it is a genocide and demanding that countries obey their obligations under international law?
Do you want António Guterres to personally march into Jerusalem and arrest Netanyahu?
The UN was created to avoid war between major powers, genocide is within its purview but not really something it's built to handle.
