Holy shit, he's still alive. With how hard they were fighting to keep people from seeing him, I assumed he was dead.

I think everyone did. It was the logical assumption.

Still, being alive is a pretty fucking low bar. Send this mofo home!

I'm glad he's alive, but I'm worried — nay, I'm certain — the majority will see this and think things aren't as bad as they really are.

I hate to say it, but if he were already dead, it would solidify the immediate danger of fascism in the minds of the majority (of non-fascists. Anyone who still supports Trump is mentally ill, in an alternate reality, and irredeemable).

I've said it from the start. The worst case scenario is not that this is a fascist dictatorship; of that I am certain. It's that they're competent enough (or the population, braindead enough) that they move slowly and not trigger a revolution until it's truly too late, and their violent repression works in silencing the people (see Tiananmen Square, Putin's Russia, etc).

Extremely pleasantly surprised. But there's a long road ahead still.

US President Donald Trump and El Salvador's President Nayib Bukele said this week that they have no basis to send Mr Abrego Garcia back, even as the Trump administration calls his deportation a mistake and the US Supreme Court has called on the administration to facilitate his return.
