MAGA are the high-flying Globetrotters posterizing everyone on the court. The Democratic professional class — politicians, pundits, think tankers, and operatives — are the Washington Generals, paid a lot of money to be pantsed.

Democrats: "Best I can do is approve another funding bill for them"

[–] in_my_honest_opinion@piefed.social 20 points 1 month ago (1 children)

The article hasn't caught up to the reality that the Democrats are loyal opposition.

[–] Maeve@kbin.earth 2 points 1 month ago

Because the press are, as well.

Citizens need to take on ICE.

Democrats need to decide if they are with the fascists or against them.

[–] floofloof@lemmy.ca 20 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Senior Democrats have already decided, and their choice is not good.

[–] Scubus@sh.itjust.works 6 points 1 month ago

Theyre the same picture

Both parties need to GTFO. We need a new constitution voting mechanism, as well as a truly progressive tax code without loopholes and carve outs, and a top rate of 100%, to fund infrastructure, including food, housing, comprehensive health, and education, in addition to green energy, cleaning up the environment.

Do they? Hey can you settle a bet with me and @FauxLiving about how many Democrats support ICE?

Would you say it’s all of them, or like, half of them or what?

[–] flandish@lemmy.world 10 points 1 month ago (2 children)

i dunno the amt but those in office who are not actively calling out ice and passing or attempting to pass laws to control them are doing so because they support them.

dem / rep / liberal / conservative - it’s all right wing politics.

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world -1 points 1 month ago (2 children)
  1. It’s 7. One of whom has apparently issued a mea culpa for all the nothing that’s worth.

Still, can’t pass up the chance to shit on the Dems as a party.

[–] flandish@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

shitting on parties is what a good american does. remember: dem and rep are both supporting of genocide and capital. both deserve shit.

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 0 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Sure but around here the republicans can’t get arrested. 100% of Rs support fascism, 2% of Dems do and what’s everyone frothing about?

Yeah. It gets old especially after fucking up the chance we had to avoid all this.

[–] BrainInABox@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 month ago

Only 2% of Democrats support Israel?

The seven Democrats who voted alongside the majority of Republicans to push forward the bill are Representatives * Tom Suozzi (New York), * Henry Cuellar (Texas), * Don Davis (North Carolina), * Laura Gillen (New York), * Jared Golden (Maine), * Vicente Gonzalez (Texas), * Marie Glusenkamp Perez (Washington).

Yeah, not knowing the amount is kind of my point; I'm trying to show @FauxLiving that people don't know.

[–] flandish@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago

it’s not a zero amount. which is the point.

[–] optissima@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Enough of the ones in seats that they vote to continue funding it.

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world -1 points 1 month ago

So take a guess - . . . 25? 8? 122? 70?

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 0 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Did you read that? Because that’s not a thing.

I’m talking about funding. Not decrying attacks on Israel.

But I digress from your pointless lefty masturbation. Fap on.

[–] Cherries@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Do you not find it suspicious that 7 Dems voted to continue funding the DHS? The exact number needed to pass the bill? Dem leadership can talk big game about not supporting ICE or how dissapointed they are, but when they publicly announce they aren't going to whip votes for no, it does feel like the Dem leadership is tacitly supporting ICE.

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 0 points 1 month ago

They needed a simple majority. They could have done with 2 less votes and still passed it.

but when they publicly announce they aren't going to whip votes for no, it does feel like the Dem leadership is tacitly supporting ICE.

Yeah Jeffries is big time fucking up. Needs to be primaried. But no one here is going to vote Democrat so no one here will primary him, right? Y'all know this is in November yeah?

[–] DougHolland@lemmy.world 14 points 1 month ago

The Democratic Party and high-level Dems support ICE, the killings, the concentration camps, and the general aura of fascism. They're an accommodation party, not an opposition party.

[–] fyrilsol@kbin.melroy.org 9 points 1 month ago

Democrats already failed you. They're trying to pad PR now after they've just voted to fund ICE when they could've had every ample opportunity to say NO. Most didn't, a large number did.

[–] French75@slrpnk.net 9 points 1 month ago

They didn't even vote to stop funding for ICE. You're putting your hope in the wrong group of people.

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 5 points 1 month ago

Democrats are the worst, most useless human garbage on the planet and we hate hate hate them! Gaaah! Bastard fascist fuckcunt shitfuck goddammit!!!

But yes, the should fight for the stuff we want.

[–] KoboldCoterie@pawb.social 5 points 1 month ago (2 children)

If I had the money to put it together, I'd get some pamphlets printed up, and some bumper stickers or such with statements like "I SUPPORT ICE'S RIGHT TO MURDER".

The pamphlets basically say "Since you support ICE, we thought you'd enjoy these!", then inside, some very graphic information about what ICE has been up to, and some messaging to the tone of "Do you support ICE? Because the House representatives you elected to represent your opinions in congress just voted in favor of a huge budget bill. Don't like being associated with that? Call them and let them know. By the way, the midterm elections are coming right up."

Send those out to everyone in every district whose 'democratic' representatives voted for the budget bill.

[–] Fredselfish@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Hahaha you think we going get to vote this away? Dude Democracy is over. We need to be deciding when rise up. At the minimum a general strike that doesn't end until this over, or start getting armed and ready for war. That or continue to do jack shit.

[–] KoboldCoterie@pawb.social 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Yeah I mean, I agree with you, but do you know how to organize that? Do you know anyone who's in the process of organizing that? I sure don't. It's easy to post shit on the internet; let me know when you've got an action plan.

[–] Fredselfish@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago

They did one on Friday, just do that but make it permanent.
