Another question is why isn't an active mass violation of human rights (what is a crime in any other industrialized nation) being responded to by the Democrats.
If your representative is Republican, assure that by their refusal to support such a law they are committing a massive wrongdoing against humanity.
If your representative is Democrat, remind them that without immediately responding to this with action and refusal to engage in any other administrative duty, they are complicit.
The future is watching closely the present moment in time, and will not be kind to those who could have acted and yet stood idly by.
In 5 years, Americans who fuck up while visiting Europe or Asia and get deported will have a meltdown thinking they're being sent to Latin America.
The main message from Trump supporters is they don't regret anything even if they suffer, long as the right people get hurt. It is impossible to have meaningful society built with people like that as a collective.
Words matter. They are not deporting citizens. They are kidnapping and quite possibly murdering. It’s a crime. Acknowledge this for the crime that it is. Call it human trafficking. But deporting it is not.
Right, so we should add language to the bill that says you can't kidnap and murder US citizens and then see how that's used in court when the other side says they merely deported the person.

The question is. If you got to choose between the two. Which would you choose. Democrats are awful, but imagine how nice it would have been for nothing to happen. Ukraine and Palestine not become worse. Our allies not alienated. Roving squads of redcaps not on the street kidnapping innocent people, AND THEN FORCING THE PUBLIC TO PAY FOR THEIR BONDAGE IN A FORIEGN NATION. DENIED JUSTICE. Nothing, man; what a dream.

True, they could push a lot harder to the left. But let’s be realistic, if they did they would lose at the polls because the US is like 75% center or right.
Most Americans are, as you estimate, center-to-right, but that's because America has no political party of the left, so lefty ideas are simply unknown to 90% of us. When genuine leftyism is spoken aloud by candidates who actually believe what they're saying — AOC or Sanders and very few others — it's very nearly undefeated.
America is center-to-right the same way someone who's never eaten kiwi fruit thinks kiwi fruit looks icky. Give 'em a bite of kiwi, though, and they'll be kooky for kiwi for life.

Pandering to the center right is NOT effective. They need to have the courage to stop being afraid of alienating the people who aren't going to vote for them anyway and make some actual change happen.

The ONLY reason that people beliwvebwe are a Center Right nation is because the Conservative Propaganda Machine has been spewing that for decades, with no evidence of it, and with no counter message from the Democrats. So Democrats have come to believe the propaganda, and react accordingly, additionally motivated to believe by their wealthy donors.
It they decided to actually support and promote progressive ideas, like tax reform, Medicare 4 All, student loan forgiveness, housing protection, unions, etc., they'd find a lot of support from a Center Left population.

I keep seeing so many people who claim to be on the left saying Democrats could win if they just supported us. Which sounds great. But then one has to wonder. Have we shown them that? We need to be the ones to bring the fight to the democrats. We've passively and complacently let National parties consolidate power for Generations now. And yet we pretend to be confused of when they don't represent us for some reason.
As someone reasonably autistic that has to mask a significant amount to get through the day. I'm not candidate material. But I would I.T. the fuck out of shit for a local campaign willing to show local and National Democrats how to fight.
I love how the "you have to vote for us every time no matter how far to the right we go" wing of the party demands decades of patient voting for their complicit republican-lite candidates before they'll listen to their left, but they fall all over themselves trying to please republicans who will never vote for them.
You don't have to in state or local elections. I've always told people to vote for whoever stands the best chance of winning no matter what party they're from as long as they keep the fascist out. But when it comes to National presidential elections mathematically you have to. It's just a fact.

Tell that to the unions that felt Carter hadn't done enough for them. Withholding their support and funding. They showed carter. He lost and the unions became irrelevant. And we had our first outright fascist in office with reagan. Tell that to all the people so uninfused with Al gore. He didn't excite them enough he didn't hold their hands enough despite having fantastic qualifications as a progressive and environmentalist. He just didn't motivate the people and so we got our second fascist with Bush Jr. I could go on I mean literally what happened with Hillary Clinton yes she wasn't inspirational no she wasn't great but by that time so much damage had been done she was the best we could get unfortunately. And people chose Trump. And on and on and on.
We've had 50 years of people like yourself ignorantly trying to change things from the top down and failing. Hurting all of us. You spend decades organizing it a state level. You aren't going to get this sort of s*** at the national level. That's the point. Yes you have to hold your nose in the meantime. While you're replacing all the jackasses that are the problem. I never really advocated for a candidate either. I simply pointed out repeatedly that we would be getting either a Republican or a Democrat and we would prefer the democrat. I wasn't wrong. Not that I care about being right. I would have loved to have been wrong. Living under a Harris Administration right now. I would gladly own up to the fact that my concerns about you all amplifying fascist and foreign propaganda. To pull Democrats down and giving the Republicans a path to Victory, was hyperbolic and uninformed. I bet you would have loved that too.
And yet, the wildly one-sided rhetoric you amplified. Not just amplified, but childishly harassed everyone who would point out what was going to happen, and did happen. Literally convinced many Palestinians to vote for the man who told Netanyahu to "finish it". And for every single one of them that voted for Trump there were multiple that didn't vote at all. That's on you and people like yourself. All the more hilarious because you voted for Harris in the end as well. After you spend all that time attacking her and demotivating people from voting for her. You were played for a complete chump. And that sucks.
All acrimony aside. Honestly, I bet you and I agree more than we disagree. We all make mistakes. I dearly wish that Palestine had been one of the issues we had been voting on. It wasn't, and that's a tragedy. But the fact that you simply can't own up to the fact that your sincere wishes for better things for Palestine. Were manipulated and used, along with the Democrats unforced errors. To cut the margins enough for trump to win. That's the impasse here. You don't have to acknowledge that anyone was right. What ever minimal impact the ratchet effect has. It pales in the face of that simple fact. When you grow up and become an adult. Often you realize it was more about what you didn't say than what you did. I hope you find that realization. We (not democrats, they'll be fine) couldn't afford that loss. And we certainly can't afford any more.
Very true. What irks me most about voters and politicians is the voters only complain about them during an election. We need constant pressure on them. Make them answer real questions.
Have you watched one of the presidential debate videos? The person asking questions is like, “what color is the sky?” And both parties start talking about taxes. We need some to say, “answer the fucking question,” and we need voters to refuse the candidates who cannot.
Yes we absolutely need an independent nonpartisan group like the League of Women Voters back. All these fake journalists fretting over access to fascists. Afraid to offend or contradict them don't serve anyone but the fascists.
And this is also why we need to tear down the National Party and build up local parties. That way when you're pissed with them you can go stand outside their office and raise hell. You don't have to hire someone to go to a Washington for you where all these guys are insulated

Kinda yeah. Every bill is a negotiation. One side isnt going to straight up agree to a bill presented by the other side without pushing them for a little bit more. And one thing leads to another and the bill is too bloated to make sense anymore
But it's a budget bill though, they could have asked for that as a separate bill
