Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.

  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.

Gee, you’re telling me all that whining about Biden “weaponizing” the DOJ was just projection? I’m shocked.

Gotta pretend the democrats did it so these corrupt fucks can pretend there is precedent.

He's following Orban's playbook. There will not be free and fair elections in 2028.

He's actually following Hitler's playbook.

Although the last three months have made me realize that the average American has no idea what happened in Germany during the 1930s, beyond the single phrase "Hitler rose to power".

Turning the government into his personal deparments, installing puppet heads, arresting judges, disappearing people based on ethnicity and putting them into prisons in a foreign country, creating lists of people with disabilities. militarizing the police, etc.

I got the feeling that free and fair things will be as elusive as the colossal squid.

Out of context: writing about elusive squids made me wonder, if someone knows how our Flying Squid is doing?

The last i heard of him, he was moving with his family to the UK.

I sure miss his presence.

What do you mean "turning"? Trump openly stated that the DOJ was his own personal law firm multiple times during his first term, and Bondi has been openly proclaiming the same thing since day one of his second. It's not like they're even trying to hide it.

➕ 💯

Exactly.

She's doing the exact job for which she was chosen. 🤷‍♂️ 🤡

The attorney General should not be driven by partisan politics. They're not even making a minimal attempt to even appear non-partisan.

This woman is so blatantly far-right partisan and a trump/maga cultist sycophant.

The fact that the Senate breezed through her confirmation made it clear not just to us, but to Trump and Bondi, that Republicans intended to fully abdicate their oversight and check function.

If they had even gone through the motions of trying to commit her to be independent, she probably would not have gotten so brazen so fast. But nope, here we are.

They're not "abdicating" their function. They're rubber-stamping the fascist dictatorship.

They are the authoritarians. This is exactly what they've wanted all along.

I guess all Garland's fucking waffling and "not wanting to appear political" was literally fucking pointless then. So glad he worried so much about how things appeared instead of, you know, going after fucking criminals doing crimes.

This really boggles my mind. All the things they are doing, were written down beforehand and all this was available online, freely accessible, long before the elections.

It wasn't even a secret.

No one did even bat an eye.

Everyone's behaving now like someone that hears Queen's "We will Rock You" everyday and starts complaining that they got rocked, after getting rocked hard at a live concert in the 80s.
