Ever had a really shitty bit idea? Joke you want to take way past the point of where it was funny? USB-C is a really bad connector for laptops to displays specifically. I feel like the port or the cable start to break way too soon because there's nothing securing the cable. Bring back VGA screw in thingies. Thank you for your attention to this matter. 
I wish magnetic charging adapters had caught on. Those were convenient as hell back in the slow charging days.

My main issue with the USB-c is that it's used for all sorts of different standards with piss poor labeling to go with it. Does it support PD? Which data standard is it? Oh whoops no thwy made it USB 2.0 to save money fuck you.
Even USB c charging don't support all formats. There are devices at my work that refuse to charge on an iPad USB c charger, but will charge on pc connected USB c. I also have a 65 watt USB c charger at home, that will not charge some low power USBC devices.
This is down to the USB PD standard which requires some degree of communication between device and charger to negotiate the charge rate so dumb devices that just want the 5V 1A from standard USB won't charge as they can't communicate.
Being still USB, the default is still 5V @ 1A even if the device won’t communicate or doesn’t support PD.
At least micro USBs aren't as common anymore. Those this would bend out of shape if you looked at them wrong.
I don't know if it's actually better, but the cables are supposed to be the weak point. At least that was the marketing of USBC over the previous versions that had stronger locking tabs/shapes. The idea is that the cheap cable breaks so the port or the motherboard it's attached to don't
If this annoys you, there are clamps available. Masking tape works too.
