Nothing says I’m losing, more than bombing civilian infrastructure.

[–] givesomefucks@lemmy.world 51 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) (4 children)

Especially since so far Iran has largely refrained from that...

Like, they do fuck with terrorists, and our current agencies that prevent terrorists attacks are run by fucking idiots.

It's honestly surprising we haven't seen an attack, not just on American soil, but someplace trump actually likes but is hard to protect.

Like, he doesn't give a fuck if Americans suffer and die, but if they flew a plane into Marlago he'd lose his shit and actually negotiate peace.

They should just go ahead and kidnap Bibi's son, who's supposedly living it up in Florida.

[–] timewarp@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

Lol, I get the sense Netanyahu would be happy if they took him. Heck, Netanyahu would probably like it if they took that Ms. Piggy looking wife of his too.

NY Trump Tower looking all sexy and demolitionable...

[–] Rhaedas@fedia.io 4 points 2 months ago

With a warning beforehand, so no one gets hurt except his ego.

[–] daychilde@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago (1 children)

demolitionable

Oof. "Demolishable", unless you'd rather conversate than converse. lol

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago (2 children)

English is a generative language. Also they may be high

[–] fonix232@fedia.io 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

1, I was a little high 2, it wasn't a mistake, but an intentional pun riffing on the 9/11 conspiracies and their general intelligence and overall grammar knowledge. I know very well that "demolitionable" isn't a word per se.

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I'm gonna be honest I think we're all a little high down here

Also I like the cut of your jib. The placement of demolitionable in that sentence was very strategery.

[–] fonix232@fedia.io 2 points 2 months ago

Well, being high helps dumb my jokes down. Usually my ADHD is so out of control, the jokes I make rely on 5+ levels of detachment from the original topic, which means they need to be explained, which means they're not that funny anymore.

oh shit, wait. I'm doing it again, aren't I? Time to get high again I guess...

[–] daychilde@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

Yes, however, "demolitionable" doesn't work because demolition is a noun, not a word. For something to be "able" to have something done to it, it must be in the verb form. But I was being silly anyway :)

[–] forrgott@lemmy.zip 3 points 2 months ago

Negotiate peace my ass, he'd drop a fucking nuke.

You not paying any attention??

[–] Samskara@sh.itjust.works 0 points 2 months ago

Iran has attacked plenty of civilian infrastructure across the gulf states and Israel. It also has attacked cities with cluster munitions. Desalination plants, oil infrastructure, cities, etc.

[–] saltesc@lemmy.world 4 points 2 months ago (2 children)

It obviously happens to stop military movements, but so far (so far) with the way the ground war is, it's just throwing toys. All he's doing is ensuring fuel prices go up for longer.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 5 points 2 months ago

which helps RUSSIA because they can sell oil at high cost now, to recover from the war effort.

[–] HuudaHarkiten@piefed.social 1 points 2 months ago

It obviously happens to stop military movements

Yes in general destroying infrastructure does that. But in this particular case, I think the bridge not being finished already achieved that goal. This was just destroying stuff because Americans are being cunts.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 3 points 2 months ago

taken right from netanyahus/putins playbook

[–] SCmSTR@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 2 months ago

Nothing says loser more than Trump

[–] chahn.chris@piefed.social 55 points 2 months ago

You know what’s going to happen here? China is going to come in and offer to rebuild Iran into a hyper modern techno state in exchange for whatever it wants and favorable partnership on oil.

Iran is going to end up stronger, China will lead the new world order, and America will just be another random country that needs austerity because we can’t afford to keep printing money the way we could before this all started.

Thanks DJT!

"There will be more to come" -Osama Bin Laden after 9/11

Is there a difference here? I mean aesthetically. 9/11 was obviously a result of blowback and Trump is the leader of an entire nation. But just on its face, it's an attack on civilian infrastructure that killed innocent people.

I'm almost glad we have reached the point in American history that we can clearly just say "yes, we are the terrorists". The difficult part now is trying to educate the western world to realize that "we always have been".

Trump is America with the mask off. Don't believe me? Look at the New York times article still trying to do the old style neocon consent manufacturing to justify it as "a route for weapons". Meanwhile the president is just saying we're gonna bomb water infrastructure and "send them back to the stone age".

It's interesting to watch the gears of US Imperialism try to run its old methods of justification while our leadership has stopped playing that game.

The west needs to educate itself quickly. This is far more long lasting than Trump. The illusion of America being a "force for good" is gone. Our soft power is destroyed and our military bases are being proven to be a security risk for any nation that houses them. We'll just take our troops out of the base, let it get bombed, and hide our troops in your civilian hotels.

Every country with an American military base needs its citizens in its streets demanding it's removal. Your country will quickly become the nearest target for justified return fire as America continues it's war machine.

It's like the US war machine just decided it can act like Israel. When the entire reason Israel could "act like Israel" was because it had America protecting its image. Now, we're just showing people that we just used Israel to do the dirty work we didn't want to be directly associated with. I guess we gave up on that.

I think Artemis has left LEO by now, and so if so, I think this is the first time since this meme was created that we have humans in a plausible location for this to actually happen. Not exactly, of course, but higher than LEO, which this image is clearly depicting. heh.

First time since 1972, I believe.

[–] rwrwefwef@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 months ago

It's a positive feedback loop. Trump got elected because of Islamism, does attacks in Mid East, which causes a rise in Islamism...

[–] leriotdelac@lemmy.zip 25 points 2 months ago (5 children)

What's the end game here? Trump plans to keep bombing until Iran dies 180, agrees to give all oil to the USA, the people rejoice and praise Trump for saving them?

Damn, some Putin-level shit.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 12 points 2 months ago (1 children)

end game is to continuously keep EPSTEIN files out of the news cycle. plus he had BONDi removed to prevent her from being deposed for the epstein files investigation, he really doesnt want any of it to get into the spotlight.

[–] resipsaloquitur@lemmy.world 10 points 2 months ago

Epstein? Never heard of him.

[–] OhmeHose@feddit.org 7 points 2 months ago

This is MAGA's holy war. It won't stop. For some technocrats (especially Peter Thiel (who's basically owning the white house rn)) Iran is the antichrist.

I know it sounds ridiculous and like conspiracy theory but take a dive into Thiel's live. Dude is a psychopath par excellance.

[–] random_character_a@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

End game is to get some kind emergency that Trump can either use as an excuse to not step down after his term or to fight approaching danger of impeachment with accusations of treason that his DOJ can then hammer in.

[–] FatVegan@leminal.space 1 points 2 months ago

Which is funny because it works on americans

[–] redsand@infosec.pub 0 points 2 months ago

"Greater Israel" Looks like they plan on taking Lebanon this year. Beyond that, make money on the war.

[–] phoenixz@lemmy.ca 16 points 2 months ago

I'm tired, boss.

[–] rwrwefwef@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 months ago

Please, please, it's too much winning...

[–] electric_nan@lemmy.ml 3 points 2 months ago

It was a terrorist bridge!

[–] theacharnian@lemmy.ca 2 points 2 months ago

How would Americans feel if Golden Gate bridge was bombed by a hostile entity?

[–] faizalr@fedia.io 2 points 2 months ago

Instead of constructing the bridge, they like to destroy it more.
