People crying about Nintendo Online pricing. First off, it's for an entire year, not by monthly, so I don't know how that's a negative. That's just an example.

What are you honestly tired of people bitching about by this point?

Literally everything.

Half the posts I scroll past are just someone bitching about something. Few people posting about cool stuff, most people posting about rage this or rage that. Or if there is a post about something good, there's people bitching in the comments how it's not good enough.

Ugh. It's like this place wants to be miserable and doesn't know any other way to exist.

[–] yesman@lemmy.world 20 points 22 hours ago (2 children)

Complaining about bitching. Wow! Is that ironic or meta?

[–] lagoon8622@sh.itjust.works 6 points 19 hours ago

The only important things are the things that affect OP personally. Literally everything else is triggered snowflakes

[–] Iconoclast@feddit.uk 1 points 16 hours ago

How dare they answer the question OP presented. What a hypocrite!

[–] Rhynoplaz@lemmy.world 5 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

Uh oh. It's infectious. Quick! Everyone post more cool stuff!

[–] IcedRaktajino@startrek.website 5 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

Lol, it really is. It's how we got the terms "Debbie Downer" and "you're bumming everyone out".

Daylight savings time. Are people really losing that much sleep over an hour?

Clearly people aren't complaining enough because everything is still going to shit idk.

[–] blarghly@lemmy.world 22 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

I mean, that's the thing - complaining doesn't get you anywhere. Sure, you can identify problems, but for anything to get better you have to get off your ass and actually fix them.

[–] Bluegrass_Addict@lemmy.ca 10 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

tried that, couldn't afford the gas, or the parking.

Words are big sweaty balls of hot air. Of course nothing changes in response to that.

I'm tired of the bitching. Let's get some shit done. Enough talk.

[–] Pronell@lemmy.world 8 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

I'm tired of all the non-fascists bitching about the non-purity of other non-fascists.

We are supposed to be allies. If we can't work together, we deserve to lose.

video game metas. i can't share memes and strats and highlights about the games i play in their largest communities (on reddit) without having to wade through endless bitch threads about how the game has never been worse and everything needs to be nerfed (except what they like to play).

just more reason to stay away from reddit these days.

@OP any subscription for online play is too expensive

I'm sick of listening to people who are objective well-off whine about how poor they are because they can't afford the things they want, when they already have way more than most people ever will.

[–] Soulifix@piefed.world 6 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

"Wahh, I'm $10 dollars away from affording the latest IPhone! This world is a vampire!"

meanwhile, Average Joe is still hoping and praying their $250 budget phone makes it another year and it is 5 years old at this point

I know its always been somewhat toxic but the gaming discourse has gotten to be ridiculous. It makes it difficult to even discuss an upcoming or newly releaded game because someone will have an intensely negative view of the studio/dev/publisher/IP Owner, etc.

[–] Rhynoplaz@lemmy.world 5 points 22 hours ago* (last edited 22 hours ago)

Yeah. I can't keep track of which games I'm not allowed to like.

You'll be hard-pressed to catch me complaining about anything. I don't like hearing others do it, so I don't take part either.

And I don't mean expressing distaste for something when it's relevant to the discussion. I mean the kind of unprompted whining we're all exposed to here on a daily basis. I'm too aware of the social game being played there, and even the thought of joining in makes me cringe. Pointing out everything wrong with the world without offering anything even remotely like a sustainable, realistic alternative is incredibly unproductive - it's mostly just tribal signaling.

[–] victorz@lemmy.world 2 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

I disagree, it's absolutely vital that it be possible to complain about stuff, otherwise we'd fall into some kind of ultra obedient civilization where silence is the norm.

Just because you don't have a solution doesn't mean you can't highlight an issue. That's just silly. That's every single bug report lol.

We wouldn't be this far advanced if we hadn't come together to share grievances and stuff that grinds our gears, all the time. "How can we make things better?" "What's on your mind today?"

[–] Iconoclast@feddit.uk 1 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

It's the people who took action that brought us here - not the ones who just complained.

"How can we make things better?" Is not complaining. "Everything sucks and it's everyone else's fault but mine" is.

Toilet paper orientation

Pineapple on pizza

The word "moist"

Basically the stupid shit that chronically online people hate because they're told to.

[–] iamthetot@piefed.ca 9 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

None of these three are issues for chronically online people. The people in my life who barely go online all have strong opinions about these topics.

[–] DigDoug@lemmy.world 2 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

They're not exclusively for online people, but online people seem far more likely to complain about them, at least in my experience. Or maybe I've just spent far too much time on Reddit.

[–] iamthetot@piefed.ca 3 points 17 hours ago

Yeah I genuinely feel like these topics come up way more in meat space for me.

Literally half the threads on one of the technology communities I am on are complaints about how much AI sucks. Probably a similar ratio on the other technology communities, I didn't count for those.

[–] hperrin@lemmy.ca 11 points 21 hours ago

This one is understandable though. It’s unavoidable now. They’re putting AI in everything. Places where it reeeeally doesn’t belong.

[–] Soulifix@piefed.world 3 points 20 hours ago

I know. I mean, there are posts that so much speak a tiny bit positive of AI, they're removed immediately. What more do those people want? At this point, they just like hearing themselves talk about how better they are for hating something they don't understand in how it is used and knowing that there is some benefits to using it. Just because techbros have bastardized it and shoved it into everything imaginable, doesn't mean the tech itself is bad, it's the techbros who made it bad.

[–] ArgumentativeMonotheist@lemmy.world 4 points 20 hours ago (2 children)

Shitty Netflix/Hollywood "blockbuster" movies. Just don't watch them... There's a laaaaarge collection of classics you can watch, get started on that instead.

I try to put myself in people's shoes when I hear them complaining and I try to work with them on acceptance. The last time I would've used the word "bitching" to describe a person complaining was probably more than five years ago. And five years ago, I think I was tired of the complaints and the people making those complaints regarding immigration. Honestly.
