False.

Money is not the end goal it is a tool, it is a physical embodiment of power. Money for money's sake does literally nothing, it's why billionaires start hiring lobbyists, buying media stations, starting charities, etc to push their views and influence onto society.

The ruling class, the capitalists, don’t do evil things for the sake of power or control.

Yes they do, that is literally the only reason. Once you reach their wealth, you are not sated with merely making more money.

Money is relatively meaningless to a multi-billionaire, power and control isn't, it's why they fantasize about holding the keys to the food storage room in their bunker and not about running their own printing press to make Bison dollars.

They can try . . . by saying my name.

You don’t need to copy my Australian accent to say my name.

[–] Deceptichum@quokk.au 4 points 3 months ago (2 children)

I would probably be a bit offended and think you were making fun of my accent if you copied me.

I don't get the Australian Lemmy instances, they're both so right-bent.

We all know they will only accept one bible.

[–] Deceptichum@quokk.au 1 points 3 months ago

Potentially.

It's concerning either way that they've ignored years of public complaints about them. Imagine how much of this could have been avoided if they'd acted responsibly so long ago.

To be frank, why now?

People have been saying the same things about him for years, there is zero chance you have not previously been made aware of issues stemming from his moderation practices.

It’s a shitty biased site with incorrect data, ironically what looks to have been written by an AI.

Shame to see this clickbait blog misinfo here, but the anti-ai sloppers wont let that stop them.

However, the country still has the EU’s second-lowest score – above only Romania – in the annual Rainbow Map published by ILGA-Europe, a Brussels-based NGO.

However, rogue communication devices not listed in product documents have been found in some Chinese solar power inverters by U.S experts who strip down equipment hooked up to grids to check for security issues, the two people said.

Despite progress in several EU member states, conversion practices remain legal in some countries, and even promoted, like in Poland or Hungary, putting thousands of people at risk of psychological trauma, social rejection, and physical abuse.

Note: This article is actually titled "Losing the war on waste".

I have used the by-line for the title instead, as I felt it more representative of the story.

For about 18 years, Dr Jen Lavers has been travelling to Lord Howe Island to study the mutton birds, and every time finds more and more plastic inside them.

Last month, her team Adrift Lab found a bird that broke the record: almost a fifth of its entire body weight was plastic.

“To witness it first-hand, it is incredibly visceral. There is now so much plastic inside the birds you can feel it on the outside of the animal when it is still alive. As you press on its belly … you hear the pieces grinding against each other.

“That changes people.”

The mutton birds have become so full of plastic their bellies crunch and crackle with the sound of it.

It is a graphic sound, but one that the Lord Howe Island scientists want the world to hear.

"I have concepts for Gaza that I think are very good, make it a freedom zone, let the United States get involved and make it just a freedom zone," the US leader said in Qatar, adding: "I'd be proud to have the United States have it, take it, make it a freedom zone."

The newly elected Carney told Sky News that the UK's invitation earlier this year did not help Canadians, who were facing repeat comments from Trump about making Canada the 51st US state.

"To be frank, [Canadians] weren't impressed by that gesture... given the circumstance," he said. "It was at a time when we were being quite clear about the issues around sovereignty."

"NATO sources say the US is opposing Zelenskyy’s attendance at next month’s summit. President Trump’s administration does not particularly support the idea, partly due to tense relations between the two leaders."
