I connected android phone to external monitor using USB-C like a year ago. I'm not sure what's new here.

I'm talking about an ecosystem and you listed one mod. I use graphene OS, it's great overall but I would like to have a choice. Maybe I don't want to use a Pixel phone? Maybe I want different set of features?

Nothing really useful. What I would like to see is better battery life and truly Open Source Android which can be easily degoogled and customized and works on many different devices. An entire ecosystem of Android mods, like me have for Linux. Yeah, that would be nice.

I think this is the first time I found a reasonable take on "how to fix the internet". You can't fix the corpo web. Most people just want constant updates and they don't care about ads, bots and AI slop. You can't change their minds.

Saying "fuck it, I will just build my own thing and I don't care if anyone will see it" is the right approach. Couple of times I was thinking about creating some guides (like guide to public EV chargers in Spain) and I just gave up because I realized I'm not going to win the SEO war and no one is going to view it. Why write guides if they are not helping anyone? I'm still not sure if it makes sense to create guides but it may be a good idea to create a simple site, post some photos, share a story. I will probably do it.

I don't think you can equate European far right parties with American shit show. The main issues with American system are completely politicized judicial branch, totally corrupt legislative branch and irrational fear of "socialism" entrenched in society. In Europe, even in countries with growing right wing movements there are still strong anti-corruption measure, the top-level courts are still very much independent (on EU level, on country level it will vary) and most people understand and support social policies. So yes, in EU many individual countries can face issues with their systems and the EU as a whole will struggle to keep its current form but it's still pretty far away from total collapse like in USA. Couple of right wing governments will not take it down.

30 years ago creating content was hard but also destroying it was difficult. Now it's very easy to post shit online but internet is also full of bots, scrapers, malware, scam and spam. I don't think you can separate those two. We can keep the internet private and free but full of shit or make it safe and "fun" but difficult to access.

so everyone who is alive now BECAUSE of all that information doesn’t deserve their life because of your ethical standards?

Where did you take this from? There's zero logic here.

What I'm saying is that if I would find a paper describing cure for cancer but I knew the author brutally murdered thousands of people in order to create it I wouldn't use it. I think using it would validate his methods and would be immoral.

Imagine someone would torture and murder your family in order to create covid vaccine. Would you still take it? Would you let the murder go free in exchange for his research?

edit: did you know particle board was invented by the nazis? ever buy any build it yourself furniture? better throw it out. ever drink a fanta soda?

Did they murder people to create it? If not what the fuck are you talking about?

Oh, so you actually went straight for "not letting lives go to waste". Nice.

For me using data obtained by murdering people is 100% morally wrong. It means that as long as you can distance yourself from the murdering itself you're free to benefit from it. Which is a disgusting take.

And US not only used this data, they actually made an exchange for it. They didn't just find it somewhere ans said "well, since we already have it...". They made a deal with the murderers. Even more disgusting.
