It runs just fine for me, huh. Certainly not because of lack of google services.
Maybe graphene is doing some firewall things? KDE Connect needs some ports open (to the local lan) to talk

If you have a phone with custom ROM support, pretty easy. I've been running LineageOS without GAPPS for like 5 years now. Most stuff just works, but to be fair, I am not using any of the cool kids apps like google pay or android auto.
Emotionally, I want to agree with you, but lynching is almost always going to hit the wrong people, too. The well connected teacher/coach/advisor who likes to prey on girls is not going to be hit, but the black guy who happens to be at the wrong spot at the wrong time, and triggers all the "we must protect our women!1!" ?
Oh, definitively not. I'm not even 30, and I remember that NY dad's car from when I was a kid needed a special additive to replace the lead, because that had been banned since he bought it
