I think the more important thing, is for people to push to make AI a public good, rather than a corporate hegemony. If corporations are the sole creators and holders of AI, they will do all sorts of terrible things with their mastery. Publicly developed and open-sourced AI that is free for anyone to use, is important.

The refusal for the public to truly make AI their own, would be akin to letting corporations to control every single printing press.

I wonder if Kraft Macaroni would become the currency of the Greater Depression?

What is the point of living without art and culture? That sounds like being a worker bee, without any honey.

If we took it at face value, this would distract Russia from Ukraine - diverting attention and resources eastwards. I think this proposal is just a means of laundering resources to bypass sanctions and NATO, to supply Russia with stuff that they can build war materials with.

IMO, people who don't work, still contribute to society: raising family, being friends with people, creating art, and so on.
