Then I guess I disagree for a different reason—the ballpark estimate definitely helped me conceptualize how far that storage would go for me.

I disagree. I very much want something like this at some point for media storage. One of these babies could replace all of my spinning disk drives.

If humans have to pay for knowledge with expensive student loans and book purchases, why should AI get that same knowledge for free?

Why are we better off behaving that way? Under that outlook, it seems like free will is a trap to hold people accountable for things they wouldn’t actually be responsible for.
