Cubainformación.- Cuba is a country that cannot make even the smallest international transfer, not even to buy food, and of course, cannot obtain even the smallest loan from international banks, because it is on a "list of state sponsors of terrorism" compiled by the U.S. State Department. This is a fallacy, a fabrication, a lie, based on no proof, evidence, or testimony. It is based solely on the White House's interest in subjecting certain nations to maximum economic pressure, to the most brutal suffocation, so that they will ultimately overthrow governments that are inconvenient for Washington. However, do you know which president was just received at the White House and which country had all sanctions lifted?

This is Ahmad al-Sharaa—formerly known as Abu Muhammad al-Jolani— the de facto (by force) president of Syria and former leader of al-Qaeda's Syrian branch: "I like him; he's had a difficult past," said Trump as he shook hands with the now-partner and puppet of the West. Not so long ago, al-Jolani was wanted as a terrorist in the US, and there was a $10 million bounty on his head. Is it possible to be more cynical, more politically rotten, more hypocritical? Which country harbors and protects terrorism? It's clear: the US!

We will also talk about the US military threats against Venezuela and the current scenario of naval operations in the Caribbean; about another mercenary (in this case born in Cuba) received in the US, José Daniel Ferrer, the sexist aggressor and "dissident" paid for years with US federal money and who, at the request of Marco Rubio, was released from prison by Cuba in exchange for his exile in the US.

And at the end of the program, we will make an urgent appeal for humanitarian aid to Cuba, through donations to all the accounts set up for this purpose at various organizations around the world. For details, please consult the Agenda section of our website www.cubainformacion.tv .

As of today, the following figures are available: 2.2 million people severely impacted; 60,000 homes, 461 medical centers, and 1,552 schools damaged; 78,700 hectares of crops destroyed; and extensive damage to telephone, electricity, and water networks. Nearly two weeks later, in areas like Santiago de Cuba, electricity service has not yet been restored to even a third of its capacity. In any case, and thanks to the Cuban Civil Defense system, there have been zero fatalities.

Palestinians from Gaza, recently released from Israeli detention, have given harrowing descriptions of sexual torture by their Israeli captors.

Victims described rapes by groups of soldiers, forced stripping, forced filming and sexual assaults and rapes using objects and dogs.

The Palestinian Center for Human Rights, which collected the testimonies in recent weeks, said they reflect a systematic policy as part of Israel’s genocide, rather than isolated incidents.

Thousands of Palestinians are still in detention camps and prisons to which international monitors, including the Red Cross, have no access.

PCHR warns that detainees face the risk of death and coerced confessions extracted through torture – especially as Israel is advancing plans to impose the death penalty on Palestinian detainees.

These detainees were arrested solely for being residents of the Gaza Strip, “as part of a policy of collective punishment designed to humiliate Palestinians and inflict maximum psychological and physical harm on them,” PCHR said.

German authorities on Thursday identified the northern city of Hamburg as the location where a sewage sample containing the wild form of the polio virus had been found.

The nation's main public health body, Robert Koch Institute, or RKI, told Reuters on Wednesday that the wastewater test at an unspecified German location was positive for the wild polio virus, in a setback for efforts to rid the world of the deadly disease.

The findings came more than 30 years after the last cases of wild polio virus infections in people were registered in Germany and marked the first wild virus detection from environmental sampling in the country since this type of routine monitoring began in 2021.

Israeli settlers set fire to a mosque near the occupied West Bank city of Salfit on Thursday, in the latest attack amid a wave of escalating violence against Palestinians.

Residents were shocked when they arrived at the Hajja Hamida Mosque, located between the towns of Kafr Haris and Deir Istiya, for dawn prayers, to find the door broken and flames raging inside.

“I tried to go inside the mosque to put out the fire, but I couldn’t because of the thick plumes of smoke and the intense heat,” Imam Ahmad Ahed Salman, who leads prayers at the mosque, told Middle East Eye.

On October 28, Rio de Janeiro’s police besieged the Penha favela for 15 hours, killing at least 121 people in the city’s worst massacre. Brazil’s right is hailing it as an anti-crime victory while overlooking their own links to violent gangs.

On both Left and Right, many like to take the Whitlam dismissal— as it became known — as a constitutional struggle between an old British-oriented establishment and a new, progressive Australia. But in retrospect, it’s hard to doubt that the 1975 dismissal was in fact a soft coup d’état, heavily influenced by US power and influence.

These various factors — ranging from economic interests to political maneuvering — help explain the strange paradox of countries scrambling to whitewash al-Sharaa and curry favor with a regime that was considered a terrorist entity just months ago. It is a fitting spectacle for the state of global politics in this Trumpian era.
