Jonathan Ross should never have been put back on duty after his first incident. He fought in Iraq as he served for the Indiana National Guard and had a long, high stress, career for Border Patrol. He should have been recognized as needing PTSD therapy and a career change after his June incident. He didn’t have to be a murderer, he was set up to be one by his superiors at ICE.

Not to absolve him of personal responsibility because he is a murderer. But I have to think it was known that he could do this and he was pushed to do it

You're missing the point. THEY want people like him to kill people like her. Its how they are going to get thr civil war they so desperately want

Shot and killed a man in Chicago. Claimed he got dragged by the car but the video shows him running to keep up with the car so he could shoot the man driving. Very similar situation. A pattern, if you will.

Do you have a source for this? Having trouble finding with the deluge of Minneapolis News.

Just that I got the video shoved in my face at work with zero warning when it happened. Mildly traumatizing. According to a Reddit post his name was Silvero Villegas-Gonzalas.

I couldn't find any videos of the pursuit or anything, just body cam footage of afterwards and the agent indicating that he wasn't as injured as DHS had claimed. The agent shot him in the back of the neck and killed him. Completely unjustified. He had lived in the US since he was 18. Undocumented but not a criminal, just dropped his kids off at school, worked as a line cook.
A sane country would have provided a path to citizenship or deported him back to Mexico instead of shooting him in the streets. No reason to escalate to a point where the agent is in danger and felt compelled to kill someone. Just let him get away and catch him at home. Worst case is that you don't and he continues to be a productive member of society and make food for people. Shit drives me nuts.

He already did that previously? What a fucking asshole

[–] ferrule@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 day ago

Or from the conservative he has "on the job skills training."

[–] FatVegan@leminal.space 10 points 1 day ago

Of course he was an international terrorist before he became a local terrorist

I can't think of anything more loathsome and pathetic than a US veteran

[–] rarsamx@lemmy.ca 3 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Any combat veteran who went to "free" (invade) another country to defend US interests (this means to steal from other countries) may fit this bill.

However, don't forget that, for some poor people it's the only door left open to survive in the US.

Don't forget that many were drafted and lied to.

I'll give you that for vietnam... but even those fellas aren't around in any great numbers anymore. I'll even grant the first gulf war as a neutral, seeing as kuwait was invaded, but the politics around everything involved doesn't really leave any 'good guys.'

But anything since then? Fuck right off with that. My cousin went and joined up after 9/11, and it still is a mental fuck for him because he realized once he got there how idiotic the country was being to invade another with the idea of bringing freedom.

I don't care about how poor they are. Look at threads about how people feel about Russian Invaders in Ukraine. America is no different. They killed my extended family members and destroyed Iraq.

[–] TronBronson@lemmy.world -2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

You know the majority of veterans serve non combat roles right?

[–] hamid@crazypeople.online 9 points 1 day ago

I don't care what the fuck they do. They invaded the country my family is from and over a million people are now dead that would otherwise not be including some of my family.
