...and noted she voted for President Trump in 2024. But she said the federal government urgently needs to reform how immigration agents conduct their duties.

"I don't blame President Trump for the death of my son, 'cause he wasn't the one who pulled the trigger," Reyes said. "But I do think that something needs to be changed in that department as far as the pattern of violence or abuse and impunity."

DHS' account of the incident was disputed by Joshua Orta, Martinez's close friend and a passenger of the vehicle during the fatal shooting. Orta said in a draft declaration, shared and prepared by Martinez's lawyers, that his friend "did not hit anyone." Orta died in a separate car crash last month, before he could sign the declaration and testify.

"I don't blame the enclosure manager who deliberately released all the leopards and told them to eat the faces of people like my son, because it wasn't his teeth that actually tore the faces off."

In sorry for her loss. But at the same time, what a fucking idiot.

At this point, I'm no longer sorry for her loss. Especially for a Trump 2024 voter.

Honestly, anyone who voted for orangeboi in 2024 more than deserves every single negative ramification of that election.

It’s a real challenge for her and would require deep introspection and a lot of guilt.

If she blamed the president and she voted for him then she would also be to blame. She would have in essence assisted in her son’s death.

This is a horrifying fact so she shies away from it and directs blame to the system instead.

And yet, being in denial prevents true growth

Facing reality is hard. So much for calling others snowflakes
