  2. Off-topic posts will be removed. If you don't know what "Leopards ate my Face" is, try reading this post.
  3. If the reason your post meets Rule 1 isn't in the source, you must add a source in the post body (not the comments) to explain this. If the reason is in the source but is tedious to find (e.g. in a lengthy video), you must add an explanation for where it is.

...and noted she voted for President Trump in 2024. But she said the federal government urgently needs to reform how immigration agents conduct their duties.

"I don't blame President Trump for the death of my son, 'cause he wasn't the one who pulled the trigger," Reyes said. "But I do think that something needs to be changed in that department as far as the pattern of violence or abuse and impunity."

DHS' account of the incident was disputed by Joshua Orta, Martinez's close friend and a passenger of the vehicle during the fatal shooting. Orta said in a draft declaration, shared and prepared by Martinez's lawyers, that his friend "did not hit anyone." Orta died in a separate car crash last month, before he could sign the declaration and testify.

"I don't blame President Trump for the death of my son, 'cause he wasn't the one who pulled the trigger," Reyes said

"I don't blame the enclosure manager who deliberately released all the leopards and told them to eat the faces of people like my son, because it wasn't his teeth that actually tore the faces off."

In sorry for her loss. But at the same time, what a fucking idiot.

At this point, I'm no longer sorry for her loss. Especially for a Trump 2024 voter.

Honestly, anyone who voted for orangeboi in 2024 more than deserves every single negative ramification of that election.

But we're the collateral damage.

[–] Restaldt@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago

Then we must collate

It’s a real challenge for her and would require deep introspection and a lot of guilt.

If she blamed the president and she voted for him then she would also be to blame. She would have in essence assisted in her son’s death.

This is a horrifying fact so she shies away from it and directs blame to the system instead.

And yet, being in denial prevents true growth

Facing reality is hard. So much for calling others snowflakes

Two in the thoughts, and one in the prayers.

What a stupid bitch.

Who does she think is enabling that?

Trump has literally said that he doesn't intend to let the DOJ go after any of those bloodthirsty hounds.

He doesn't want them on a lead, he wants them as a force to weaponise against his dissenters - the more rabid the better, as it makes people more afraid.

The ONLY way to Stop Trump from KILLING MY FAMILY is to Vote for him a Third Time!

Everyone here in Iowa is the same way.

[–] I_Fart_Glitter@lemmy.world 39 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Am I the only one suspicious of the second car crash that killed the witness?

[–] ouRKaoS@lemmy.today 16 points 1 month ago

It's giving "Mysteriously fell from Putin's window" vibes.

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

No. Although it doesn’t seem to match the JFK-era witness killings.

[–] Raiderkev@lemmy.world 37 points 1 month ago (1 children)

The indoctrination runs so deep. This stupid bitches kid was killed as a direct result of Trump's actions and she doesn't blame him?

[–] Sanctus@anarchist.nexus 24 points 1 month ago

Actually braindead

Surely they won't rape and kill MY children!

[–] Yerbouti@sh.itjust.works 10 points 1 month ago

Sorry that face was diggested years ago.

[–] FlashMobOfOne@lemmy.world 8 points 1 month ago

LOL, if there's one thing our ruling parties love, it's letting supposed law enforcers kill citizens.

It's a feature of the American experience, not a bug.

[–] jtrek@startrek.website 4 points 1 month ago

I really would like less news coverage of trump supporters. Their opinions are bad. I'd like the news media to focus on humanizing everyone else.

[–] solidheron@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 month ago

Glad to have her on board

And the only witness is dead as well. How convenient. Amazing how many Trump witnesses get dead.

theres a polish song about that

"ja jeśli ukradne, ide do więzienia wy możecie nawet zabić, nic to nie zmienia nie czynicie tego własnymi rękami zastępują was oprawcy przez was naganiani"

translation:

"if i steal i will go to jail you can even kill and nothing will happen you dont do it with your own hands torturers encouraged by you do that instead"

Sadly it takes something like this to get trump supporters in board.

[–] Otherbarry@lemmy.frozeninferno.xyz 29 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Not sure about that, according to her own statement in the article she doesn't blame Trump for any of this. It might take a few more dead family members to get her to re-think her support.

[–] Th4tGuyII@fedia.io 7 points 1 month ago

Honestly I don't think that would be enough. Some people just can't put the link between Trump and all this senseless violence together no matter how much it costs them

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago

And yet they still support him.

Cult.
