We need to reframe this as "Trump opens dialogue about climate-driven environmental hazards, proposes punitive measures for polluting nations"

See how fast we can get the whitehouse hyenas to shit themselves

[–] cabbagepatchcrabs@retrolemmy.com 2 points 34 minutes ago

That's honestly some brilliant spin.

[–] altphoto@lemmy.today 1 points 56 minutes ago (1 children)

C'mon, catch all the molecules!

[–] altphoto@lemmy.today 4 points 50 minutes ago

I don't want to sound rude, but all those particles are Canadian, illegal, undocumented and, get this.... brown and yellow and red! And they're here to kill us, bringing Cancer to our region. The worst part is they'll just land anywhere they want, stick around and nobody does anything!

It's almost as if we should do something about them ...sequester them in a large box? Capture them anywhere they go into our country?

Do you know they land on your sister? Not just her harms and legs but inside her blouse! Down her undies! Oh my! Everyone's sisters! We gotta do something!

[–] SirEDCaLot@lemmy.today 23 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

This is fucked up. I don't usually jump too hard on the anti-Trump bandwagon (I don't like the guy but I'm not usually rabid about it) but this really takes the fucking cake.

When CA had wildfires, Canada sent us a ton of help-- a bunch of firefighting aircraft, complete with air crews and ground support. It made a big difference.

We have firefighting aircraft. And my understanding is they are parked on the fucking ground while our friends and neighbors to the north are burning. Meanwhile our so-called leader is hurling insults and threats at our friends, while they are literally on fire.

I love my country, but today I'm ashamed. We are supposed to be better than this. Better neighbors, better humans. It's pathetic. It's not us. It shouldn't be us. We should be better than this, as a nation.

[–] PlaidBaron@lemmy.world 8 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

If it helps, we actually view you guys as rotten neighbours.

Thank you, that does help, and I apologize.

[–] zephiriz@lemmy.ml 3 points 6 hours ago

Maybe Trump should send the people who rake the leaves here to Canada?

[–] ecvanalog@lemmy.world 7 points 14 hours ago

This fucking guy I swear to god

[–] hanrahan@slrpnk.net 2 points 10 hours ago

build a wall /s

[–] Typotyper@sh.itjust.works 13 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

Maybe they should worry about their fires

[–] Lushed_Lungfish@lemmy.ca 14 points 10 hours ago (2 children)

Canada has routinely sent folks to help fight American forest fires. Because that is who we are.

[–] Typotyper@sh.itjust.works 6 points 5 hours ago

We also recently lost one in a Colorado fire

[–] Malyca@lemmy.zip 9 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

Those of us in the Pacific Northwest will never forget the kind help of our neighbors to the north. Trump is a piece of shit, but we remember here.

[–] absentbird@lemmy.world 3 points 2 hours ago

The PNW has Canada vibes too; they should just annex us, we're chill with it.

[–] xangadix@lemmy.world 7 points 17 hours ago

Are the Epstein Files in the wildfire smoke? No? Then let the fire department do their job and bring the child-molester-in-chief to justice. Also, it wouldn't hurt to bring back those environmental laws you abolished.

[–] ivanvector@piefed.ca 57 points 1 day ago (1 children)

As a punishment for Canadian wildfires, Trump raises taxes that only Americans pay.

Make it make sense, challenge level impossible

[–] explodicle@sh.itjust.works 11 points 18 hours ago

Simple. These wildfires are exacerbated by climate change. American consumerism fuels climate change. By increasing taxes on Americans, he's reducing future wildfires.

[–] dregan@lemmy.world 26 points 1 day ago (2 children)

The ONLY reason he is aware of this is because the air in DC sucks.

[–] peteypete420@sh.itjust.works 8 points 18 hours ago

But he is in Florida, how would he know?

Hope it kills him faster

[–] jj4211@lemmy.world 22 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Quick, divert ICE to dealing with that invasion instead.

[–] wolframhydroxide@sh.itjust.works 2 points 38 minutes ago* (last edited 37 minutes ago)

If you throw enough ICE into a fire, the fire WILL go out.

[–] ilinamorato@lemmy.world 71 points 1 day ago

Literally old man yells at cloud.

[–] Bluewing@lemmy.world 10 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I don't know about you, but the "filthy" air invading my home is caused by the 70,000 acres of forest burning my own state......

****This is what can happen if you do not properly manage the fire burden of forests by allowing fire to consume the dead trees and ground cover. But god forbid the tourists from big cities see a section of burned forests! They tend to get all riled up.

[–] musubibreakfast@lemmy.world 2 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

This is why we wrap tourists in kindling and give them tiki torches before we send them off into the forest in my state.

[–] Bluewing@lemmy.world 4 points 2 hours ago

The problem with that is the tourists never start the fires where you want them.

[–] radix@lemmy.world 307 points 1 day ago (4 children)

Is he saying the atmosphere is a shared resource that no nation should be filling with pollution?

It's fascinating how close he is to getting it, while the world knows he never, never will.

[–] quick_snail@feddit.nl 11 points 1 day ago

I mean, he has done more for renewable energy than any previous president.

He's increased the cost of gasoline, and done wonders for the electrical grid in Cuba.

[–] amio@lemmy.world 99 points 1 day ago

Meh, weaponized hypocrisy is 99% of what comes out of his blubbery bitch-ass.

[–] Solumbran@lemmy.world 48 points 1 day ago

No, he's saying that the atmosphere is a resource owned by the US and that other countries should pay for it.

[–] dreamkeeper@literature.cafe 4 points 1 day ago

It's just another excuse to shit on and threaten Canada.

[–] Varpeggio@lemmy.zip 8 points 1 day ago

I want off Mr. Bones’ Wild Ride.

[–] rottenmummy@lemmy.ml 10 points 1 day ago

Shit, it is real. peak idiocracy 😂😂😂😂😂😂

[–] Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works 26 points 1 day ago

This assfuck is all-in on AI and data centers. He doesn't give a fuck about the air.

He could help Canada, but he won't. It's all about bullshit. He needs to feed his fat fucking cow followers with endless bullshit. No gaps in the feedings. Bullshit day and night.

Take my energy tiny blood clot

Great quality posting standards, good job

[–] Wren@lemmy.today 88 points 1 day ago

As a Canadian in the middle of these wildfires, which fire marshalls and environmental scientists have been warning about for years, I'm glad Doug Ford is getting chastised by his big buddy over a problem that should weigh heavily on his shoulders.

And yes, please, set a precedent to start treating the air as a shared resource. I can't wait to see what kind of penalties get levied against the US once we make that a thing.

I know he'll forget the whole thing once he starts sundowning tonight, but a girl can dream.

[–] CyberneticOwl@lemmy.world 17 points 1 day ago

I mean, careful what you wish for: legislators could troll Trump by drafting bills that use the same language to go after his agencies that have screwed up air quality, water quality, etc.

[–] fizzle@quokk.au 65 points 1 day ago (7 children)

This fucking dumbass. Lets tariff them, that will surely stop them creating all this smoke. The outcome from his liberation day tariff war was so abysmal I'm surprised he's not too ashamed to utter the word ever again.

[–] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 37 points 1 day ago

That would require an iota of self-awareness.

Now Canada is distracting from the Epstein files...

[–] ClassyHatter@sopuli.xyz 13 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Trump should put 100% import tariff on wildfire smoke.

[–] schipelblorp@sh.itjust.works 6 points 1 day ago

I only breathe smoke from domestic wild fires and AI data centers.

[–] jubilationtcornpone@sh.itjust.works 14 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Dear Canada,

I am really sorry about the senile old fuckwit criminal that some of us decided to let run wild. I tried to tell the other fuckwits that it was a terrible idea. They did not listen.

Sincerely,

Your Friend in the Banana Republic to the South
