Said it in another thread with the same thumbnail:

If they didn't want people to lust after their mascot, they shouldn't have given her "fuck me" eyes and a sultry smile. This is the internet, they should have anticipated this.

Whales are indeed big.

Bluesky’s thriving furry community started posting their own images of her. Though The Spinoff hasn’t viewed them, it understands some were quite pornographic.

Journalism is dead

[–] Dozzi92@lemmy.world 4 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

This isn't journalism, it's an ad. I hadn't heard of Kiwibank until right now.

[–] MajorasTerribleFate@lemmy.zip 2 points 3 hours ago

I took the commenter's implication to be that True Journalists would have looked into the images and been able to confirm if they were, in fact, pornographic.

Maybe don't show her out on a date, then?

I would imagine New Zealanders should be sensitive and wise about sheep sexualisation jokes...

Obligatory Thanks Smokey

The CEO presses pause, the mascot sheep looking over the boardroom in coquettish freeze-frame. "Guys, you've gotta tell me, nobody thinks this sheep is fuckable, right? We didn't put a CM out with a sexy sheep on purpose, did we?"

The VP loosens his collar. The marketing team fidget and look around the table, anywhere to avoid the gaze of the CEO.

"Guys? It's not fuckable, right?"

A junior exec caves. "M-maybe a little bit?"

"God FUCKING damnit!"

The glorious days on which all the furries on Twitter harassed Tony the Tiger.

[–] KulunkelBoom@lemmus.org 11 points 18 hours ago

Yeah. Sure. But is it bringing in the bucks? I mean sheep? I mean customers?

[–] chicken@lemmy.dbzer0.com 93 points 1 day ago (1 children)

This media has been disabled in response to a report by the copyright owner

Other Bluesky furry accounts have accused Kiwibank of censoring sexy sheep art that wasn’t even connected to Buck in any way, essentially making their work collateral damage in a war over a reputably fuckable farm animal from New Zealand.

The DMCA is out of control

[–] Infrapink@thebrainbin.org 12 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

Since when does the DMCA apply in Aotearoa?

[–] chicken@lemmy.dbzer0.com 18 points 14 hours ago

The Spinoff has seen several of the takedown requests, which were issued under the American Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). They were sent out by Christopher Young, a partner at the prominent law firm MinterEllisonRuddWatts who specialises in intellectual property law. The notice viewed by The Spinoff accuses 10 accounts, including @jestermaxxing, of having “taken Kiwibank’s distinctive Buck image and used it to make highly sexualised and inappropriate copies which infringe the Kiwibank copyright”. X appears to have complied with the complaint.

DMCA takedowns are valid regardless of what country they come from I think, and both Twitter and Bluesky are based in the US

The fallout appears to be spreading. “I want to fuck the National Bank horse,” says one account.

I'm fuckin dead

[–] Hupf@feddit.org 15 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

Something about beating a dead horse

[–] mondomon@lemmy.world 3 points 6 hours ago

Beating off one at least.
