This is a Dengist community in favor of Bashar al-Assad with no information that can lead to the arrest of Hillary Clinton, our fellow liberal and queen. This community is not ironic. We are Marxists-Leninists.

See this GitHub page for a collection of sources about socialism, imperialism, and other relevant topics.

This community is for posts about Marxism and geopolitics (including shitposts to some extent). Serious posts can be posted here or in /c/GenZhou. Reactionary or ultra-leftist cringe posts belong in /c/shitreactionariessay or /c/shitultrassay respectively.

Welcome again to everybody. Make yourselves at home. In the time-honoured tradition of our group, here is the weekly discussion thread!

P.S. Update on those stability improvements/enhancements I mentioned in my previous weekly thread: they're finished. The matrix server uptime is now better. Suspiciously better, some might say. Anyway, enjoy the reliability >:3

I have been feeling anxious for so long that I do not know of the flat line I feel right now is normal behavior or if I'm in some sort of depressive episode. Just grinding away at work, hanging out with friends and dating a nice woman. Maybe it is peace. But the occasional absence of feeling like I'm in danger feels strange after years. I did sign up for therapy to get through some stuff, though. Maybe it helps.

Have a great week, everyone! Whenever times get hard, it helps to zoom out and see that whatever may be coming your way now is temporary. All obstacles exist within time, so rolling with them as they come and weathering the storm will help keep you optimistic even as times get tough.

As always, communism will win.

Thank you, Cowbee. I hope your week is swell! For myself, I think I'll treat myself to something because my birthday is coming up this week.

[–] Cowbee@lemmygrad.ml 12 points 1 week ago

Happy birthday, comrade! Enjoy it and treat yourself!

I want to begin this comment by saying I am in no way perfect but holy shit the bar for dating men is low. Like, the stories I hear from women around me about people they meet either in rl or online are wild. It's as if men are completely unable to function in a normal way.

I love revolutionaryth0t. One of the best creators on yt.

[–] Makan@lemmygrad.ml 2 points 6 days ago

Yeah, I like her YouTube videos

(And I generally don't like any political YouTubers nowadays so this is high praise coming from me LMAO)

[–] muhg@lemmygrad.ml 12 points 1 week ago

Maybe my favorite marxist creator on yt.

Stuck between looking positively at the future and feeling like I will die in a horrific war or something

There's this one coworker I work with often and he watches reels during breaks. I have witnessed this man's reels going from far right conspiracy lunacy to now the occasional communist influencer and I wonder if my algorithm is infiltrating his, and winning.

I have turned many liberals through persistant shitposting in groupchats.

As Mao said: "Political power grows out of the pixels of a meme"

I'm getting tired of seeing posts like "haha no more Russian bots now" on Reddit.

[–] KrupskayaPraxis@lemmygrad.ml 14 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Same, especially since the west uses bots to the same extent

[–] cfgaussian@lemmygrad.ml 15 points 1 week ago

To the same extent? No, nowhere near. The Russians are amateurs compared to the West when it comes to botting.

[–] Commiejones@lemmygrad.ml 11 points 1 week ago

Saw a similar post on Facebook. Guy used a analytic tool from bluesky sorting for a single hashtag that only amounted to 1000 posts over a 4 day period. The number of Pro russian posts were 1/2 as common 3 and 4 days after the strike as they were 1 and 2 days after the strike and somehow that proves the pro Russian posts were Russian trolls? Like if they were Russian trolls wouldn't the drop in posts happen the day of the attack?

I miss prolewiki

I would like to one day live in a country where its administrators proactively seek to improve the conditions of the masses and make decisions based on a long-term view toward that goal, rather than basing decisions on personal enrichment and electoral stunts. I would happily dedicate my life to laboring for a government like that. I want to see the smiling faces of children who get to grow up in a safe, loving, peaceful, and communal world. If I could make a clear difference toward that, it would make it all worth it in the end. To know that others can have a better life than I had. To be empowered through liberation-based education and organized community. To be in community with others, to share goals, and to inhabit immense joy, while never losing sight of what is needed to protect it.

there is not any word in the english language that can capture just how horrifying the control of the capitalist powers over the internet is. (well internet is small part of the indoctrination and control of historiography, but the internet... in the time i was gone i've been observing my irl friend's internet feed and remembered as far as they think, this is all pure, clean and dandy. and i kept seeing the ciaslop everywhere) apart from that, witnessing anglosphere internet even secondhand reminded me why i find everyone there so fucking ANNOYING!! their trite """""""""politics"""""""""" of flab and vapor invariably end up anti-communist, ESPECIALLY their ideas of 'anti-capitalism' that end in silly little discussions of authoritarianism, did you know stalin was as bad as hitler, maybe worse?!

realizing that, at least i know i should focus on being able to have a real understanding of theory, where i know it so well that i can say it in such nice undeniable chunks for everyone, and then i can really help them pull at the strings about current events. only then could i actually start challenging the basics of historical knowledge, those that if you question them they'll start biting your leg. it's odd, actually, because i just wrote that paragraph out and i suddenly felt a burgeoning feeling of happiness and contentment. it's something i can do :)

Feeling kinda sad that I hate pretty much the whole internet but lemmy as of lately. Sometimes I even fear this website will get swarmed by reactionaries and destroyed from within like it happened with leftypol.

[–] Commiejones@lemmygrad.ml 11 points 1 week ago

Dead internet theory isn't just a theory it is a reality. Cloudfare says 57% of all internet requests are from bots. israel is dumping 730 million american dollars into astroturfing this year and who knows how much the Fossil Fuel Industry, the cia and us Millitary industrial complex, the EU's anti russia slop, and every other imperialist project out there, must be pumping into the same sort of PR campaigns.

These campaigns may eventually start hammering away at lemmy but I think overall the moderation and community structure will make it far harder to astroturf successfully.

watched the new ben affleck movie "Animals" and i cringed so hard. they had Luis Gerardo Mendes act as an indocumented migrant meanwhile in Mexico he only gets whitexican roles for obvious reasons.
