Is it normal for LA cops to wear vans?
Looks like many of them got pressed into service out of uniform. Maybe it was a casual Friday? Those always help lighten the mood at the precinct when the people want your head.
I hope they were rewarded with a pizza party afterwards. It seems like it was a hard day of getting absolutely pelted with anything that protesters had within arm's reach.
Is that one cop dual wielding shields?
A lot of people will mock dual shielding, but it's actually a viable strategy. Yes, shield bonuses don't stack, but a lot of shield based attacks remove the shield bonus to AC, so having two shields allows you to specialize with one item type for both offense and defense.
IIRC the game Dungeons of Dredmor allows shield dual wielding as a viable build

Others probably mocked his skill progression choices, especially when he went raiding and his DPS sucked. But I bet he felt like those were points well spent during this incident.
