Hey if you want an extra room on your property you could get boats like that for free.

Hey! When that pond floods, that boat can travel three, maybe even four, feet!

[–] krisevol@lemmus.org 1 points 5 hours ago

That's a really cool parking spot

[–] Akasazh@lemmy.world 7 points 9 hours ago

Noah just before the flood

[–] thedeadwalking4242@lemmy.world 4 points 9 hours ago

I love how it's still tied up

[–] Noite_Etion@lemmy.world 14 points 15 hours ago

I bet the owner wanted to build a small house or granny flat and couldn't get zoning permission... So he found a loophole

No lie, I kinda love it. Like a backyard tree house but this one gently rocks.

Fucking amazing repurposing of an unusable old sailboat into a really cool kid's playhouse.

[–] Bytemeister@lemmy.world 7 points 8 hours ago (2 children)

Kid's playhouse + pond is asking for tragedy.

[–] OwOarchist@pawb.social 2 points 2 hours ago

Not if the kids know how to swim ... or the pond is really shallow.

[–] BeMoreCareful@lemmy.world 9 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

Won't do it twice though, will they?

[–] titanicx@lemmy.zip 6 points 2 hours ago (2 children)

Depends on how many kids you invite over.

[–] fartographer@lemmy.world 2 points 2 hours ago

I feel like that's more tragedy vs more times, but I guess sure, if you invite them over one at a time.

“You can’t moor here, mate.”

[–] LemmyFeed@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

I mean, it seems like they can.

Because WTF is " the man" gonna do?

[–] vapeloki@lemmy.world 19 points 1 day ago

When you build your port in civi just to get the boost

[–] Chozo@fedia.io 13 points 1 day ago

Quit laughing, it's just low tide right now.

[–] punkwalrus@lemmy.world 15 points 1 day ago (3 children)

Surprised it's a sailboat. How deep is that pond to accept a boat with a keel? At least 5-6 feet for clearance that close to the edge. Maybe it has a retractable centerboard, though.

[–] Steve@startrek.website 6 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

Maybe its jammed into the mud

[–] Zachariah@lemmy.world 2 points 20 hours ago

are you calling punkwalrus a stick in the mud

Probably, although with a bit of imagination I could see a case where this could be real: they've made repairs to the boat and want to test it's keeping water out and so just put it in the dugout instead of hauling it to a proper body of water. Not sure why they'd have the mast up though, unless I guess the mast step or something with the stays was part of the repair being tested.

[–] bstix@feddit.dk 4 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

I think the right hand side of the picture has a hill in the foreground. The lake continues behind the hill.

[–] jj4211@lemmy.world 1 points 2 hours ago

Good catch, this could be a little piece of a much more credible larger body of water, we just can't see the connection from this angle.

[–] PoscoBumbleroot@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

Got a real Andy Bernard over here..

[–] WereCat@lemmy.world 1 points 18 hours ago

I’ve used to do this with galleys in AoE2

[–] sundray@lemmus.org 2 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

It's not the size of the boat that matters...

[–] Ceruleum@lemmy.wtf 2 points 2 hours ago

Unless it's like really really small!
