Oh yeah they absolutely don't care about us. They care very deeply about their masters private property, not their subjects' personal property. Its a distinction they make and it helps to be aware of that
Well, they don't get paid to solve problem. They get paid according to the amount of crime there is. Fixing that just makes fewer jobs for cops. They can't be having that!
What? They don't get paid according to the amount of crime, they get a salary from whichever government budget is set for their municipality. Mexican police tend to be understaffed and underworked, so it's no surprise things get by them all the time. The government reaction also appears to stem more from the premise of the state asserting it's monopoly on violence rather than whether or not they actually want to solve any problems. I think their silence on what caused the vigilantes to do what they do speaks volumes to how much they care about the actual crime and broken system that facilitates it, though.
I mean more crime = more calls for expanding the police. Yeah, each individual doesn't get paid more. The system gets more money though, which means more cops being paid.
Toronto had a massive bike theft problem in the 90s the police did nothing about.
They found a guy duct taped to a tree in High Park with a bicycle frame pump up his ass. There was no outrage.

How would this happen? It'd take a while to duct tape someone to a poll and if they move at all it would fuck it up, so you'd need them to be very compliant. Was he holding them up at gun point?
Also why wouldn't the people tied up explain what happened?
none of those found tied up have provided information about who carried out the attacks.
This seems more like a cartel selectively tying up thieves for not giving them a cut and threatening them to not say anything.
Or these could just be some random guys who crossed the cartel for whatever reason and the cartel did this to frame/embarrass them

God, I love vigilante stories.
We had a superhero in my town who was, I'm pretty sure, also the serial killer he was hunting. The serial killer hunting in my neighborhood. Months worth of entertainment.
Be careful with the crackpots and wingnuts, some of them are crazy.
Well that's certainly different.
But when I say I like the stories, I'm not saying that I associate with vigilantes. I'm just saying the stories are interesting and I enjoy reading them.

They've often been bad, but they haven't exclusively been bad.

That doesn't make it not vigilantism. Vigilantism is when you use force to enforce your values without the backing of the law. That's what a revolution is too.

This is what happens when you have lazy fat doughnut eaters not doing their job.
I won't say that everyone should be a vigilante, but those whose moral compass is working properly should definitely do it.
I definitely couldn't do it, i could probably hold back against petty theft and such but against rapists, murders and such i don't think i would allow them to get a chance for "redemption", seen it too often where they get released on "good behaviour" and are back within a week because they went back to the same old familiar life.
