Yeah, I'm stupid.

I'm so stupid I don't understand how to more clearly state that no money should be required in exchange for permission to live here. It should not be a rental property. No profits should be made.

Can you understand my point now?

I see, you want things to be even worse for the poor so they can have a revolution faster.

If we allow spaces like OP's article to be the new bare minimum for rentable space, then that's what corps will rent at apartment prices. It won't bring the cost of housing down, it'll just be another way to funnel money from the poor into the pockets of the rich, and people will die in the process. If you support that, you're licking boots.

The empathy here is not forgetting that people died for those laws. I understand that people would rather risk death than be homeless, but going back to tenement halls is not the answer.

I agree the record and bail are bullshit, but you cannot seriously be proposing that we relax fire code for rentals.

It's not 'livable' in terms of building code. We could allow spaces like this to be used as bedrooms, but that would require doing away with the laws that say you need fire egress in bedrooms.

Right? We're gonna use drones to kill unarmed kids, without the expense of having to ship stuff to a different country. It's like a 60% off coupon for your favorite hobby, Uncle Sam is creaming himself in anticipation.

Growing up in Oklahoma, my grandfather ran a humidifier in the winter, and a dehumidifier in the summer. Even with a HVAC system, he'd have to dump out the dehumidifier every other day.

If a right wing party uses leftists ideology in education as an excuse to not fund education, make it work so there is no argument to be made.

The problem is that our right wing thinks that basic facts are 'left wing ideology' and we can't "make it work".

Like, I grew up in a conservative state, with an education that stripped out everything they complained about, and we didn't even cover reproduction in high school biology because the right doesn't want sex-ed. Nevermind that kids were banging in the bathrooms, we couldn't learn about mitosis because it might lead to impure thoughts.

What sort of compromise would you even suggest with that?

Edit: I had a girl in my senior class that was pregnant with her third kid, and she literally didn't understand why she kept getting pregnant and actually thought god was sending her babies so she'd be a great mom.

A million monkeys on typewriters is old news. Now we're gonna teach a million starlings to play back the entire bee movie.

There are burial aid programs and such in the US, but they're typically religious charity and allowed to dictate their own requirements. A lot of congregations have a church-specific fund for helping congregation members only, for instance. Some states offer financial assistance, but not all of them.

If there's no family to claim your body when you die, the state will typically cremate you and claim your assets to cover the cost.
