Russia. I'm surprised he wouldn't give Israel an honorable mention at least.

On the daily they had one WV resident literally saying "if we go hungry I'll have to resort to any means necessary to eat" and I very nearly drove into a fucking pole yelling at the radio.

Like holy fucking shit, what a way to figure out that social safety nets are tools which preserve social order and not just some feel good charity. If only someone had been explaining this to you constantly for literally a fucking century.

The only time I've ever gotten shit for being an American in Europe was from some skinheads on a train in Germany who got double offended at my rainbow US flag patch, who yelled a bit about American globohomo propaganda until the conductor told them to quiet down. Which was actually extra hilarious because they were basically just like "you're lucky this old man scolded us in the German language or you'd have been in big trouble." Which is possibly the most German thing ever.

What you don't want to see the US and Russia pooping back and forth forever?

I lived in a neighborhood where a bunch of people used wood stoves for secondary heating and there were definitely certain days where it was overcast and humid and there would literally be a smog layer over the whole neighborhood and my asthma would go nuts. I hated that shit and begged my immediate neighbors to not burn wood and they looked at me like I was asking them to cut off an ear.

They don't actually want to deter it, they want to pay for its harmful impacts.
