FBI documents published on the US Department of Justice website show that billionaire paedophile Jeffrey Epstein funded the group Friends of Israel Defence Forces (FIDF) and settlement-building organisation the Jewish National Fund (JNF).

Analysis of income and transfers to non-charitable exempt organisations, released by the FBI, shows that the convicted sex offender financed the FIDF, which "raises funds for active duty Israel Defence Forces soldiers and veterans".

The world is poised to overshoot the goal of limiting average global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius, as for the first time, a three-year period, ending in 2025, has breached the threshold. And climate scientists are predicting devastating consequences, just as the world’s governments appear to have lost their appetite for tackling the emissions that are causing the warming.

The 1.5-degree target was set at the Paris climate conference a decade ago, at the insistence of more vulnerable nations, to forestall severe weather impacts and potential runaway warming that could lead to exceeding irreversible planetary tipping points. But climate scientists say that 10 years of weak action since mean that nothing can now stop the target being breached. “Climate policy has failed. The 2015 landmark Paris agreement is dead,” says atmospheric chemist Robert Watson, a former chair of the U.N.’s arbiters of climate science, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).

Meanwhile, a picture of what lies ahead is becoming clearer. In particular, there is a growing fear that climate change in the future won’t, as it has until now, happen gradually. It will happen suddenly, as formerly stable planetary systems transgress tipping points—thresholds beyond which things cannot be put back together again.

“We are rapidly approaching multiple Earth system tipping points that could transform our world with devastating consequences for people and nature,” says British global-systems researcher Tim Lenton, of the University of Exeter. If he and other scientists are right, then hopes currently being expressed of a temperature reset by reducing emissions after overshoot may be fanciful. Before we know it, there may be no way back.

According to the human civil rights movements, the Swiss Ordinance on the Surveillance of Post and Telecommunications Traffic (VÜPF) significantly extends the obligation of metadata retention for large communications service providers. It also imposes user identification requirements on virtually all online service providers, including virtual private network (VPN) providers.

A coalition of international human and digital rights organizations, including Amnesty International and European Digital Rights (EDRi), urges the Swiss Federal Council to amend or abandon proposed changes that would expand mass data retention and user identification obligations for nearly all telecom and internet service providers.

I’m looking to run OpenClaw on my homelab. Has anyone successfully got it running with Docker? I followed the Docker instructions on their website, got Ollama running with a lightweight model, but couldn't get the openclaw dashboard working.

I was hoping to have it everyday, look through the hundreds of job alert emails I get, and output a list of jobs for me to apply for. It'll compare my resume to the listing, check the age of the listing, etc.

I know it's highly susceptible to prompt injection, but if I have it in a container, with a email made specifically for OpenClaw I'm hoping it will be relatively safe?

With this election outcome, more nationalist hardline declarations and legislation are to be expected, along with increased economic and industrial instability due to additional Chinese sanctions in response to japan attempt to militarize.

There have been a lot of complaints about both the competency and the logic behind the latest Epstein archive release by the DoJ: from censoring the names of co-conspirators to censoring pictures of random women in a way that makes individuals look guiltier than they really are, forgetting to redact credentials that made it possible for all of Reddit to log into Epstein’s account and trample over all the evidence, and the complete ineptitude that resulted in most of the latest batch being corrupted thanks to incorrectly converted Quoted-Printable encoding artifacts, it’s safe to say that Pam Bondi’s DoJ did not put its best and brightest on this (admittedly gargantuan) undertaking. But the most damning evidence has all been thoroughly redacted… hasn’t it? Well, maybe not.

Sorry for cross posting this here, but I didn't get any answer until now and i thought selfhosters might be another good place to ask, as they often are tinkerers one way or another :)

Do you have any recommendations for keyboard stickers to mark a second layout?

For programming I really like to use the UK ISO layout, so I am looking for small stickers to mark all the keys that diverge from the built in german layout.

Thanks in advance!

Murdoch tabloid leads charge as big freeze persists – could the mayor please do something about the weather?

It snowed two weeks ago in New York. Since then, the temperature has barely risen above freezing – a temperature science naturally dictates is necessary to melt snow and ice.

But science isn’t enough for some US political critics, however, who have instead blamed Zohran Mamdani, New York’s new socialist mayor, for the snow not having melted and still clogging up some of the city’s streets.

The New York Post, the rightwing tabloid and a frequent Mamdani critic, has led the charge. This week the newspaper claimed that “slushy streets” were “ruining travel for everyone”.
