Experts say Observations Group’s connections to the Base and Rinaldo Nazzaro present ‘urgent danger’

In the underworld of accelerationist neo-Nazis, where talk of attacks against western governments are commonplace, the spread of illegal weapons manuals and tradecraft on drone warfare are proliferating. Experts say, in some cases, that classes are being taught online with the input of leadership from proscribed terrorist groups with links to Russian intelligence.

Authorities have been warning, on both sides of the Atlantic, about the accessibility of drone technologies and military veterans on the far right with the know-how to use them, presenting a grave national security threat.

“Offering military-style training materials, including drone tradecraft, to the extreme right indicates that this is for prepping purposes,” said Joshua Fisher-Birch, a terrorism analyst with close to a decade of experience tracking militant movements. “[To] improve the capacity of extremist networks to commit violence, or to encourage acts of violence specifically.”

Activist investor Cevian Capital, which has a sizeable stake in UBS, said in September that the proposed Swiss capital changes would make it “not viable” to run a large international bank from the country. It added that UBS would have “no other realistic option” but to leave Switzerland if the proposals were not watered down.

From autos to chemicals, the country’s biggest exporters are ignoring government pleas and pouring billions into new projects that tie their fortunes even closer to the world’s second-largest economy. German corporate investment in China jumped €1.3 billion ($1.5 billion) between 2023 and 2024, hitting €5.7 billion, according to the Mercator Institute for China Studies.

On average, car manufacturers accounted for about two-thirds of German investment in China from 2020 to 2024, MERICS found. That spending has accelerated in recent years, growing 69% between 2023 and 2024 to reach €4.2 billion.

BMW has committed about €3.8 billion to a battery project in Shenyang, making China the hub of its largest research and development network outside Germany. It also exports electric SUVs from China back to Europe. Meanwhile, Mercedes shifted its annual strategy summit to Beijing and is developing China-only electric vehicles.

Volkswagen, which calls China its “second home market,” has similarly signed a string of deals with Chinese firms to accelerate its technology development.

BASF, the German chemicals giant, just opened an €8.7 billion complex in China — its largest-ever investment. Last month, BASF CEO Markus Kamieth called China essential to the company’s growth month, saying the market helped counter sluggish output in Germany.

Bosch, Germany’s global engineering firm, is deepening reliance on China for product development, while cutting positions in Germany

I’d like to rely less on my phone so that I don’t do the ritual where as soon as I wake up I’m doomscrooling on my phone, do you know of any cool, minimalist but with some features alarm clock out there?

I feel like people didn't understand me last time so I'll try to be more specific. I don't have an old phone, actually my phone is currently broke so I don't have one at all. I don't want an F-droid app, and I don't want to buy a physical alarm, I'd like and app that some more functionalities, like maybe setting more than one alarm or naming them and some theming, etc.

As an inspiration this is a web site I like I’d love if it’d introduce an alarm clock because of its aesthetics and philosophy:

use.haus

Here are more clear cut cases of web pages that exists but are closed source:

https://kukuklok.com/ https://onlinealarmkur.com/en/ https://www.myclockly.com/alarm

I don't want a physical one because I don't want to spend any money and because I want it to have just a few more features that would be covered my simply being an app instead of a smart watch or whatever, plus it forces me to go from my bed to my desk, helping me get out, instead of hitting it on the night desk.

China is escalating its confrontation with Japan over Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi’s comments on Taiwan, with state media threatening major countermeasures after Beijing’s travel warnings raised the specter of economic retribution.

Yuyuantantian, a social media account linked to China’s state broadcaster and frequently used to signal official policy, published a commentary over the weekend warning that Beijing “has made full preparations for substantive retaliation.” The post hinted at imposing sanctions, suspending economic, diplomatic and military ties, and restricting trade as forms of potential reprisal.

Hours later, the People’s Liberation Army Daily reinforced that message publishing a commentary by a state-affiliated scholar warning that if Japan’s military got involved in the Taiwan Strait “the entire country would risk becoming a battlefield.”

Automotive Cells Company, the Stellantis-TotalEnergies-Mercedes JV, may drop its planned Termoli gigafactory after 20–25% higher costs at its Douvrin pilot plant. Stellantis now pivots to CATL-backed LFP cell production in Zaragoza.

ACC’s pilot plant in Douvrin, France, which began operations in 2024, has encountered technical and financial obstacles. Scrap rates of 15 to 20 percent have limited production to approximately 15,000–20,000 battery packs in late 2025, while production costs are estimated to be 20 to 25 percent higher than those of leading Asian competitors. These issues, combined with strategic considerations, have led Stellantis to shift its focus toward lithium-iron phosphate (LFP) battery technology.

Japanese stocks related to tourism and retail fell on Monday after China warned its citizens not to travel to the country as Tokyo and Beijing remain locked in a row over Taiwan.

Japan's Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, who has been a vocal critic of China and its military activities in the region, suggested this month Tokyo could take military action if Beijing attacked Taiwan.
