I’m starting to get annoyed that Sheeran is getting all the hate, save an equal amount for kraft, people..

Update- folks, this was a joke. I’m not defending Sheeran here, merely also expressing my distaste for the rest of the players in this horrible situation.

[–] Rat_in_a_hat@lemmy.ca 4 points 8 hours ago* (last edited 8 hours ago) (1 children)

He's played at private events for Kraft and his agency manager was friends with Epstein & Ghislain

[–] Nouvellalia@lemmy.world 1 points 6 hours ago

Yeah, Sheeran did some shit too. They have video or pictures on him. That's why he folded so fast.

[–] SalamiDommie@lemmus.org 1 points 9 hours ago

People here aren't smart enough to figure out what you were saying.

[–] stylusmobilus@aussie.zone 80 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

We are supposed to expect better for Sheeran, or at least he makes out to be decent

People like Kraft we expect to be dog shit.

Sheeran deserves it…at any time he could stand for something.

[–] Khrux@ttrpg.network 5 points 10 hours ago

That's exactly it, we expected better. Regardless of if one likes his music or hates it, he's built a brand on being a decent human being. Basically every story of him before this week has been one of positivity, I'm pretty sure his rider has always been something like a glass of water and packet of crisps, he's donated a lot to good causes and generally stood up for those who need it.

Billionaires are parasites on society, and Kraft is the kind of man who influence global politics and facilitate ethnic cleansing to line his own pockets, and nobody is surprised by that.

Sheeran showed that the moment anything is on the line, his entire brand of kindness can be bought. I actually believe he thought he was making the non-decision in this, but that was clearly motivated by a desire to keep his brand out of a situation that is basically a for-profit genocide.

Unless he gets up on stage tomorrow's show and makes a statement with some balls, his entire persona dissolves, and that is his brand. Sadly we all know he won't.

[–] jerakor@startrek.website 17 points 18 hours ago

I think his music all was taken off the air as well.

[–] Fmstrat@lemmy.world 13 points 17 hours ago

Others like Kraft will not change if they see consequences. They will double down. Others like ES will see this and recognize they can't sit idle or try to "be neutral" in today's world without consequence, and there is a chance they will change.

[–] Malica@lemmy.zip 15 points 19 hours ago

It's expected of Kraft

[–] b161@lemmy.blahaj.zone 41 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

He deserves it. Check out some of the comments on Macklemore’s YouTube videos. Many of the repeated comments are calling out Sheeran saying “being silent in the face of oppression is choosing the side of the oppressor.” They are right, and a lot of people need to be called out in the same way, and feel the weight of their supposed neutrality. It’s about time some of these “apolitical” arseholes felt some heat.

[–] khannie@lemmy.world 25 points 21 hours ago (2 children)

Well said.

Apolitical = complicit.

Fuck Ed "I'm not complicit" Sheeran.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 5 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

Apolitical= really means i am conservative, but i want to keep the "peace" and not BITE THE HAND THAT feeds me.

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 4 hours ago

People like this are always "apolitical" as long as the Republican party is in charge and doing awful shit. They never want to talk about it because they're aware of the optics.

[–] velma@sh.itjust.works 6 points 20 hours ago

Exactly. We need to make it uncomfortable to be apolitical. Only those with the most privilege can afford to be apolitical and we clearly have the power to change that.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 6 points 15 hours ago

Shareen did perform at kraft's wedding, so hes pretty complicit, and likely is getting all these sweet venue deals because of kraft.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 49 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

Everybody already hated Kraft, he's an Epstein perv.

[–] adarza@lemmy.ca 9 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

and then there's also the several cheating scandals in recent memory involving his nfl team (new england patriots)

[–] Malica@lemmy.zip 2 points 18 hours ago
[–] creature@lemmy.world 3 points 14 hours ago

Enablers are as bad as the people they are enabling IMO

[–] mrgoosmoos@lemmy.ca 21 points 22 hours ago

Kraft is a pos and doesn't care about us and we can't affect him much.

People like Sheeran have reach and can actually affect people like Kraft, and Sheeran chose not to do so.

this is a warning to other people of influence. be like Macklemore, not like Sheeran. use your influence for good, not to ignore evil.

[–] Radical_Socialist_t00t@lemmy.ca 9 points 20 hours ago (1 children)
[–] atomicorange@lemmy.world 4 points 19 hours ago

I am an infinte fountain of hate. More than enough for everyone.

[–] FlashMobOfOne@lemmy.world 7 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

I'm annoyed that none of this really matters but it's all I'm hearing about right now.

The WMD's make their way to Israel and their genocide continues unimpeded.

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 4 hours ago

It absolutely matters, and you're a fool to ignore this.

Many of us have been paying attention long enough to recognize just how much the average view of Israel has changed, and the response here is a big fucking deal.

The fact that this has so relentlessly and thoroughly fucked Sheeran, is a big fucking deal.

Because this would not have happened even like 3 years ago.

[–] Chozo@fedia.io 14 points 23 hours ago

They can both be pieces of shit. We don't have to choose just one.

[–] neuromorph@lemmy.world 4 points 18 hours ago

i can hate two things at once!

[–] rumimevlevi@sh.itjust.works 8 points 22 hours ago* (last edited 22 hours ago)

Fuck both of them

[–] Pistachio@lemmy.zip 2 points 20 hours ago

Then be annoyed. No one has said massage parlor kraft is getting a pass here.

[–] stoly@lemmy.world -3 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

He doesn’t deserve hate but he showed that he is very out of touch from reality on a sensitive topic.

[–] rumimevlevi@sh.itjust.works 6 points 22 hours ago

He deserve hate he told Mac that saying free Palestine hurt the genocide supporters
